MAXX Quality Control = very inconsistent

by GuyinLACA    May 19, 2007, 12:13 AM

I've had the phone for nearly a month now and really enjoy it. The overall build quality, reception, sound quality, screen quality are great. That said, I've been through 4 of them and may be getting a fifth. There are major issues with quality control and I've never seen so many problems. Below you will find the problems I've encountered. Most have been directly related to the keypad or the hardware.

-Left soft key was messed up
-Text messages would freeze 5-7 seconds before the sending window popped up

-The outer screen flipped upside down on occasion
-The phone would reboot during some picture messages and when launching the speakerphone

-Battery life was bad
-Ringtones didn't always play correctly
-Dead pixel on the main screen, outer screen was crooked

-Everything is perfect except that the keypad is loose and getting worse

None of these 4 MAXX's had similar build quality, 2 had major software flaws, and the latest has the keypad issue. I will try one more before giving up on this phone, but I'm really getting frustrated. Verizon's top of the line phone should not have these issues. I've also checked out the LG VX-8700 and it has issues as well. On a positive note, when you get a good MAXX it will be good for you. Good luck for those of you looking into this phone.
