Formatting a Micro Card?

I have a nearly full 1 GB micro card, which was on my LG VX8300. I know I must reformat it for the Maxx, but have been unable to do so, and I cannot find info from the maual.

I've tried turning the Maxx on and off, putting the card into my card reader and deleting the files from there (while they disappear, they still read 'full'), but still I can't put anything onto it.

Suggestions?

Easy Way To Get Ringtones To Maxx?

It seems that the good folks at Verizon have blocked sending a ringtone to my phone, opening it and saving it.

What are the easy ways of doing it for the Maxx Ve? I know all about how to make them and what size limit there is, but is there an easy way to get them on the phone?

Suggestions?

music player buttons

Anyone know of a way to deactivate the music buttons, without locking the entire phone (apparently you cannot lock only the keypad).
I place the phone in my pocket (no case). When I sit, the speakphone or other side buttons are apparently pressed and the music activates.

Motorola Phone Tools and the Maxx Ve

I have the Motorola Phone Tools program, and it recognizes when I attach my phone to my computer, but it won't install it or even recognize the type. It let me pick from a list, and the Maxx Ve wasn't even on it, yet it's the most up-to-date list from Moto. My computer itself picks it up, though; when I first plug it in one of those bubbles pops up and says "New hardware detected - Maxx Ve".

Has anyone been able to actually hook this phone to the computer and get it to work?

MAXX Quality Control = very inconsistent

I've had the phone for nearly a month now and really enjoy it. The overall build quality, reception, sound quality, screen quality are great. That said, I've been through 4 of them and may be getting a fifth. There are major issues with quality control and I've never seen so many problems. Below you will find the problems I've encountered. Most have been directly related to the keypad or the hardware.

MAXX #1
-Left soft key was messed up
-Text messages would freeze 5-7 seconds before the sending window popped up

MAXX #2
-The outer screen flipped upside down on occasion
-The phone would reboot during some picture messages and when launching the speakerphone

MAXX #3
-Battery life was bad
-Ringtones didn't always play correctly

Ringtones sound off

I just got my Maxx Ve, and I don't know if it is my phone, or if I am just used to how my last phone sounded, but the ringtones sound, well, "off" to me. I previewed a couple from Get It Now that I had on my last phone, and I know they will sound different on different phones, but they sounded REALLY different. Has anyone else had this problem? ๐Ÿ˜•

Also, I never seem to hear the phone ring if it's in my purse or jacket pocket, even on the highest volume. My last phone I could here from two rooms away - is this a common thing with the Maxx? ๐Ÿ˜•

Motorola Mazz Ve Owner Not Too Happy

I upgraded from a Motorola E-815 and wished I didn't. My 815 was trashed so I had no choice. Don't get me wrong I am not saying this phone is junk by any means its just not improvement that I thought it would be. First of all the software that the Verizon uses on this phone is horrible. First of all the font size used certain areas is so small can hardly read it. There is no auto complete in the text message function, just this thing call iTAP: its useless! I don't do music videos and all that so I can't comment. Battery life is an oxymoron. I use it for work, sometimes have to charge it two or three time per day. I use the Weather Channel quite a bit on Get-It-Now since Accuweather is not offered on this phone. In some of the menu screen th...

Ringtone - need help with last step

So I can trim an mp3 to less than 30 sec/300 kb, change the file extension to .qcp, and email it to myself a a pix message attachment, and then receive it.

But then what do I do ? I can listen to the attachment, and there is a "save sound" option, but not a "save as ringtone" option. If I save the sound, it does not appear in my ringtone list, bu in "my sounds". How do I get it to be a ringtone ?

Thanks

Keypad is not plastic

Article says "When open, the Ve looks less unique. While the screen is bigger than the V3m's, the keypad looks identical. Rather than sporting a metal finish the keypad is plastic, with white lines separating the keys from one another."

The screen is much bigger in resolution, not physical size and the keys are not plastic. I do miss the metal touch though. The black coating does make the keypad feel cheap compared to the other RAZR phones, but I love the rubberized coating on the body which is durable and more scratch resistant.
