data cable and software ?

data cables are easy to find - $10 or so.

Apparently Sony has a data cable and software - pricey - $50 or so. Also the software is probably only for Sony. Generic software is best to work on other phones too, although I do have the pretty good Motorola Phone Tools for Motorola phones.

So I would prefer 3rd party software.

I checked other software and none of it seems to work with this model.

Anybody find any ?

Shalom,
Steven

In Stores Now... well in a way...

I live in chicago but work in a suburb close by and my store just received 5 dummy phones and 3 real phones but they are not yet for sale, and so far no date has been set. But will a rollout to stores already, it can only be a few days or a week or 2 until a full rollout of the phone.

just talked to the sony rep.

Hey all, the sony rep came into our store today and i asked him about the z300. according to him, sony wanted the phone as a 20 dollar phone per contract, but cingy already has a couple phones in that spot, so he claims it will be a new go phone. our guess was about a hundred dollars or so. he said not to think of it as a lowerend z520, but more of a flip t637. just wanted to share it. also the w800 looks really sweet.

Possibly a new go phone?

Seeing that cingular has the entry level phones pretty well rounded out, is it possible that this phone will make it's debut as purely a go phone?

whats your opinions?

Is there even a market for this type of phone

I have heard (in Canada) that as technology continues to gain, that the entry level bar continues to climb.

The people at an unnamed GSM company has said that they will no longer take non-camera, dual band phones because VGA camera, tri-band phones are now playing in that price point.

So do we need this Sony Ericsson? At the entry level in Canada, the price between entry level camera and non camera is blurred, with the only place left being prepaid (and this is also changing as well).
