Sync Help

Hello,

I need help getting my HP6515 to sync with my desktop. when I plug the 6515 into the desktop cradle, my computer starts up active sync, and then starts to look for changes. does that for awhile, then says not connected and does not sync up. I used to have the SMT5600 and it synced up all the time, I have created a new " device". any suggestions would be great,

Thanks

Phil

BIG BUTTONS!

Hey, how about this:

Is there a way that someone could write a program that will make all notifications appear on the screen in very large format buttons?

When I receive a text message if I get an option to read or close in a button that is large enough for me to press with my thumb that would REALLY change the functionality of the phone.

Also, I would like to be able to reply to a text without using the stylus...

Any thoughts?

No Stylus

Is there a setting I can change to allow me to reply to a text without using the stylus?

I would like to be able to do everything with one hand if possible.

Also, is there a way that I can disable the touch screen? Sometimes I leave the phone in my pocket while I am in class and I find that if someone calls me it might answer. OR what I found is:

Someone calls me and although the phone will not answer after it finishes ringing it sits at the today screen. While sitting at the today screen inside my pants pocket it will decide to try and send text messages, open my calandar... ect...

Is there anyway to turn this off?

What vendors offer a 30 day trial?

I looked on Cingular's website and did not see anything about a 30 day trial. This was mentioned in some of the reviews. What vendors offer this?

Memory upgrade for the HP 6515!

😁

Good news folks, the people at www.pocketpctechs.com have released an upgrade to the ipaq 6500 series... this will boost you from 64MB to 128 MB! the cost right now is 169 bucks. I can also confirm that the 6515 recognized my 4GB Transcend SD Card! ALSO, have a Mini-SD WI-fi card from spectec coming, this also has been tested on the 6515 so apparently the mini-SD is also SDIO!

These upgrades more than make up for the minuscule weaknesses in the 6515... just thought I'd pass along some good news!

OS - Mobil 5.0??

Can anyone tell me accurately if the Cingular versions of this phone are shipping with Mobile 5.0 or if it has an upgrade to 5.0 available?

Price lowered at cingular.com

I bought the phone at 499 and am still very happy with it. The deal just got even sweeter, it is now at 399 after rebates!

Insurance

The problem I have with purchasing this phone is that if I get it, Cingular wireless does not have an insurance plan that covers phones over $200. So I am too paranoid to purchase a high priced phone, without the ability to protect the phone with an insurance plan. So there is no "peace of mind" if i spend $700 and then accidently break it, i am out $700.

Does anyone know of a way to get insurance through cingular on this phone???

What the...?

I can't figure out why they think someone would want even LESS resolution than current Windows-based PDAs! Holy smokes, even the SMT-5600 manages 176x220, and that device is TINY! This thing's profile is ... significant, to say the least.

Less resolution...hmmm...let's see what that buys us. Less browser window, less contacts to view at once, less Word/Excel file to look at, pretty much less room for everything. But hey--at least the keyboard is stuck on permanently this time.

Come on, HP...ask your customers what they want. Stop guessing! HTC figured it out...why can't you? Hint: Siemens SX-66/Audiovox PPC-6600. Hellooooooo?

Modem via Bluetooth

Is it possible to use the iPaq hw6515 as a modem via bluetooth to pair with my laptop PC? I would be using an unlocked version with T-Mobile, if this is possible. I currently do this with my unlimited internet T-Mobile plan using my Nokia 6600 and HP iPaq hx2755.

Thanks!

Emulators

Trying to find some good stuff for downtime when business is done or on hold.

I've tried a couple different ppc emulators and they've both locked up on my controls, like when I push up, Link would go left.. or push right and he would just look right but never go that direction. I'm guessing partly it may be the screen size and these ppc emulators i'm trying were meant for the bigger screens.. not sure.

My main question is.. anyone found an emulator that actually works "good" on this thing? Whether it be, nes, gb, atari.. anything to pass time on here.

Preciate the help!

HPiPAQ HW 6515 Thoughts

Here's something I posted Here--
http://forums.cingular.com/cng/board?board.id=HP »
Well, I've had the unit a little over a month now, thought I'd share this. It still seems cumbersome to me using it as a phone. I look like a geek holding a calculator to my ear. Contacts button defaults to the last person looked up if you dialed their number, takes a bit to start it scrolling through. Reception on the phone seems average, maybe a little better inside some buildings then my Motorola V551. This is more driven by towers/etc. then the actual phone intself I think though.

I'm constantly hitting the video button on the side when grabbing it out of the holster or pocket-I'm looking for a way to lock that button. Haven't used the camera...

6715

I just stopped by the local Cingular store to ask if they had any info? I was told that they have no cluse when the 6715 will be out and that they have to sale out their inverntory. ALso that Cingular may not be carrying the Q.

So is Cingular trying to get rid of their customers?? Are they trying to get to a point where they can declare bancruptcy?

Also I was told that the UTMS antennas that I thought were on and running are actually off and won't be turned on till Jan 06 sometime. Which is differnet from what I read and was told that they are up and running atleast here in Chicago.

Also some of the new pocket pc/mobile/cellphone type magazines that are doing their best picks for 06 don't have any mention of the 6715 but the 6500'...
