I am confused!

I called up Cingular, eventhough I am a T-Mobile customer, and they said that the are expecting the V635 soon. I asked how soon and she said soon. I am confused cause Motorola said it will not be coming to the United States for a carrier.

V-635 is a NO GO for Cingular!!!!

😲 Well I just got off the phone with our Motorola Rep. Cingular has REJECTED the V-635...They believe the price point is too close to the price the V3 is dropping down to. The A630 will only be available on-line as well. Be on the look out for a V-3 with a removable media card and a new Moto Smart phone but more like the A630.....

I think I still will wait, maybe.

I still dont know about all this NO V635 stuff, cause i called Moto twice and both sales people said cingular should already have the phone. Moto can't sell by its lonesome self because they wouldn't have a carrier to pair it with, so they said they always wait for the carrier to start first. I also called cingular and nobody over there knows what the hell is going on cause the company is still trying to deal with new "cingular wireless customers""cingular customers"(differnce i dont know)and "AT&T wireless" acquired customers. cause each group gets different upgrades and stuff like that. so i really wouldn't trust anything they say. Also i talked to my best phonenerd friend(he actually works for some new communications firm) and he said ...

What does that mean Admin?

So by removing the "April-May 05" available date stamp from the main page of this phone, we are supposed to acknowledge that we are not getting this phone anymore?, I dont understand. Could the admin please confirm this? I called Cingular.com Customer Service and the girl said that no, they were not getting it, maybe, she doesnt know. They are usually told a week before. I called Cingular Business 800 number and they say that they know its coming out, but not just yet, to give it maybe two to three weeks. Either its a big secret or a big lie. Now I find the release date from this website removed. Like Joe Schmoe would say: "WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!?!?!"

Question

OK, I just won the v635 from a guy in Germany (USD $260 plus shipping!) and I didn't think about it before, but would the charger that came with his phone need an adapter to be used in the US?

No More V635!

As everyone was expecting the Motorola V635 to be offered here in the US, they have taken it off of the Hellomoto.com website for the US, and replaced it with the Motorola V235, which is suppose to be released in the 2nd HALF of 2005. Also, I called up Motorola Customer Care, and they confirmed that it was cancelled, and will not be released for a carrier.

You can still find it online and in some Indirect dealers, but it will not be released for any GSM carrier here in the USA.

The V235 looks like a V600, but has video capture.

Leather case?

Does anyone have a custom-fit leather case for their v635? (No pouch)

I'd prefer a motorola case, but as long as its made with real leather I'm cool with it. Also, I'd prefer that it interfere as little as possible with the camera when flipped open.

I dont work for Cingy, but I heard this.

This is secondhand, but I've heard that the V635 is in fact not coming to cingular.

News originating from a moto rep, to a cingular rep I know, to me.

Take it however you want, but I went ahead and bought it unlocked already from a 3rd pary (TigerDirect) with a 256mb t-flash card.

Purchasing an Unlocked V635

😕 I'm interested in purchasing this phone but i'm not sure how it all works. I have a phone that I recently purchased a Nokia 6230 from Cingular with a one year contract. If I was to purchase the unlocked version of the phone would it be as simple as switching the sim card to the new phone? Would i have to enter settings for Cingular such as MediaNet? If so, I know Nokia with there support site will allow you to send the MediaNet settings to the their phones. Does Motorola offer something simular or would i have to enter the settings manually. Also, how much support would Cingular be willing to offer? Help Help!

Thanks,

Derek

Tigerdirect

Tigerdirect.com recently started selling unlocked GSM phones. I have purchased computer stuff through them, so I trust them more than most internet shopping sites and they have the unlocked V635 listed cheaper than anything I have seen. 349.99. That is about 5.00 better than exoticphone.com. and more than 50 better than the next site after that. I would check them out if you are looking for an unlocked V635. 🙂

how are they cheeper for other countries?

Like everyone else these days, i too am extremly excited about the V635 possibly coming to cingular. however, while doing some browsing around i went to some of the UK's websites to see how much the phones were going over there since they already have phones that we dont yet have here. and too my surprise the V635 over there on T-Mobile was free. along with other phones which here are upwards of 300. how is this possible? are the prices of the phones included in the monthly payments over there or does any one know?

just wondered. i never came across a thread that seemed to figure this out.

if you dont know what i mean here is the link to what im talking about

Just got the phone, its great!

I just got the phone two days ago from http://www.expansys-usa.com/product.asp?code= 119021

It was worth the money and the camera is such an improvement. The website I bought it from above sells you the British version unlocked. I'm not sure why they're saying it won't be released until Q3 2005.

Is Motorola an American Product?

If anyone can let me know. I read yes, no, maybe. The reason: I just called Customer Service for Motorola to ask about this phone's release. I got this guy with a heavy accent. He is telling me that he has no information about the release date and actually never heard of this phone. I asked him why he hasn't heard about it. He said because only the phones that are sold "HERE" in America are listed in his system. Any other phones, I have to go to their website. I asked him where was he, since they can only sell the phones available "HERE" in America. He is in Argentina. So Moto's CS is in South America, not "HERE" in North America. Not that I am naive, I know most corp.s are doing the cheapo outsourcing to $10 a day wages. It still amazes me....

carrier?

Does anyone know if this phone will be for a specific carrier, or is this phone gonna be for just about anything? What I mean is for example the razr. It's meant for the carrier cingular. Is the v635 going to be for something specific like that or can it come with any carrier? Thanks.
