Recording ring tones

Hi-
My cousin has a phone where it allows her to record someone talking and then set what she recorded as her ring tone. I was wondering if the motorola v262 had the capability of doing that. I know there is a sounds folder but I don't know how to put sounds or voice memos in there. If anyone knows of a way to do this please respond! thanks.

Anybody seen V262-2?

I was reading in the users reviews about the fixed V2622 version, but US Cellular claims never having heard of it. (All their boxes are marked V262.) Has anybody actually seen them?

Wishful Thinking - setting "on open noise"?

Greetings Fellow Cell Phone Users,

All right - I know this is geeky and silly, but here it is: is there any way to have the V262 play a specific sound with it is opened up? Yes, I'm a trek-geek. Yes, I want my schnazzy new flip-top phone to do the Star Trek communicator thing. Yes, yes, I know... but can it be done? ๐Ÿ™‚

No date on Home Screen/external display

Hi

Just purchased a V260 with Verizon Wireless service. The demo model at the store has the date on the home screen, but not on the external display. The store phone has not been activitated. The dealer said that the date will not show because of the Verizon Wireless logo on the home screen; the manual states that the home screen may be different than the picture in the manual. Also the date does not show on the external display (as stated in the manual). Can anybody get me the date on the home screen? Thanks for your help in advance.

Motorola V262 Outer display.

Hi there.
I just got my new phone, it's gorgeous. The only problem is, when you open the phone, on the outer display it says "Telus". Does anyone know how to change this?
Thank you,

Alarm Feature

Just wondering if anyone else has run into the annoying problem of having to keep the phone powered on to get the alarm to work. I was trying to figure out if this can be fixed where I can use the alarm with the phone being powered off. Any help is appreciated.

Picures not available for wallpaper

Have a V262. Some of the pictures that came with the phone are not available for wallpaper or screen saver. There isn't anything in the manual about assigning pictures. The details sat it is unassigned.

Available Covers

Since VZW is offering the 260 with the all silver case, does anyone know if the changeable soft-touch covers will also be available for it? Also, any updated release info? ๐Ÿ˜

Source of US Cellular-compatible ringtones?

I got the Mobile Tools and USB cable, but I can't find a single website that clearly states that their ringtones are compatible with this CDMA US Cellular phone. Asked at the store and they naturally refer to their easyedge where ringtones are quite expensive. Please help with some sites that you actually tried and whose ringtones worked. Thanks.

Questions about Contacts

Okay. So I just picked up this phone (Verizon V260) based on reviews I'd read here and other places. Then I realized I'd never read any comments regarding the Phonebook functionality. I left behind a series of Kyocera/Qualcomm's and the feature I liked best about them was their excellent phonebooks (and PC Sync software). They supported searching, sorting by Personal/Business/General categories and category ringtones.

Now some questions about the Moto's Contacts:

1. You can save 500 contacts. How do you search through them?
2. What's the best way to maintain your Contacts on a PC and sync the phone???
3. Is there a way to view just a specific Category?

Thanks in advance!!!
