Something you can not miss if you have a Sanyo phone
I go to Fry's electronics last weekend, I find Handset Manager product lines now are in Fry's electronics.
This is an excellent data kit that can enhance your cellular, for some MP3 phones, it also supports MP3 clip to set up as ringtone.
If you want to be unique, you gotta have a piece of Handset Manager for your phone. 🙂
voice record
Can you record something and set it as a ringtone?
If so, how long can it be?
"Somebody answer that phone"
If we activate use of the side keys on the 8200, aren't we supposed to be able to answer a call in speakerphone mode while the phone is folded? I can't hear the caller until I flip open the phone.
Only then can I fold the phone and continue conversation. Has anybody else experienced this and is it a defect in need of repair or replacement?

Vibrate & ring?
I'm probably missing it but does this Sanyo model have a setting to both ring and vibrate simultaneously? If you know how to access that and set it up, would you please describe how? Thanks.

Everyone that I know with this phone get SMS, why doesnt it work for me anymore?? How do I fix it, because obviously Sprint Tech. Support is not going to help me.

really really confused (a600 vs. pm8200)
😕 i am sooooo confused. i need help people. i received my little cute adorable 8200 in the mail three days ago. i chose the silver one. my phone prior to that is the samsung a600. i have only known samsungs and love them soo much i only switched cause i wanted a change and SPEAKERPHONE!!! the sanyo as some of you may know is different in so many ways like menu style, voice call sound quality, ringers (style and volume), the camera is different too although i was surprisingly impressed by a few of the pics taken by the sanyo- it does well outdoors i believe.
i still have time to return the 8200 and wait patiently for a samsung with a spkr + camera. that could take months. my a600 is still in fairly good condition and i am somewhat attach...

Just realized pm8200 has built in flashlight
I was messing with my phone the other day and noticed if you hold the vol. up or down button with the phone closed, the flash will turn on for 5 seconds. Just thought it was a pretty cool hidden feature. Thought I'd share the knowledge.

How To Make Your Own Rngtones for Dummies
Hey all. There are a lot of programs and websites that help you make ringtones, but I've found that most of them are buggy, hard to use or unreliable.
In order to make your own ringtones from scratch, you'll just need a few basic programs. This will be a general post. If you need more specific information on any of these steps, e-mail me.
You'll need five things to make a ringtone:
1) An MP3 or WAV audio file (if WAV, skip 2)
2) An MP3 to WAV converter program
3) A WAV editing program
4) Qualcomms Purevoice converter
5) A means to upload the ring
For step 2, there are tons of programs you can find. A good place to go is download.com. Just go to Audio and Video and search for "mp3 to wav converter". There are hundreds.

Games for 8200
Does anyone know how to add games to the 8200 without downloading them off the 'net? I have a USB cable and software; there are games on the software CD, but I don't know how to load them on the phone.

Turning off confirmation beep
Just got a PM8200. Whenever you change an option it makes a confirmation beep as it saves. Any way to turn this off?
Same goes for the "you're an idiot" beep when you try to do somethng like look at pictures when there are none loaded, or use an external key while the keyguard is on.
These two settings are hugely annoying. Other than that it's a great phone...

Can I make the ringtones louder?
i downloaded a few ringtones cuz the rings that came with the phone were really bad...but problem is they are way too quiet, even with the volume turned all the way up. if there is any type of noise in the room i cant hear my phone ring. i'm just wondering if there are any settings i am missing or am i out of luck.
so far thats the only thing i dont like about the phone, but that is a pretty big thing to me.
