Android Feature

This is an Android feature offered in HTC phones since 2.2. I have this on my MyTouch4G (T-Mobile). Pick it up and the ringer will silence, flip it over the ringer will silence. If you are on a call, just bring the phone away from your face, and put it face down on something and it will turn on the speakerphone as well. Its a novel feature, that ironically, I found MOST convenient and the "move to silence" feature something ALL PHONES, even non-smartphones should have. I cant stand peoples blaring phones in public who are too stupid to silence the ringer - they keep looking at their phone "Should I answer?"

Don't Purchase Any current Nokia Windows Devices

The Lumia 900 will not be updated to Windows 8. Its a dead horse, no future. Avoid at all costs. If you really need a windows phone, wait til october or november of this year when the new models come out with windows 8.

Fire Stephen Elop, The CEO of Nokia

It seems that the only real person they should have fired is stephen elop. He has single-handedly destroyed the top cellphone manufacturer. I don't quite understand why the share-holders keeping the same CEO who through a short 1.5 yrs at the helm has resulted in a 68% drop in Nokia's share values.

The only way for Nokia to survive this is to maintain yet minimize its reliance on Windows mobile. Simutlaneously, it must introduce an android line-up which would allow it to generate some income while windows mobile OS develops.

Microsoft just needs to buy Nokia

They have a good thing going with Lumia. Consolidate resources, come out with the next version of Windows 8 for tablets, phones, etc., and you have a winning combination. You then have a big three competition, with excellent choices. Apple products, Google/Motorola products, and Microsoft/Nokia products.

Let the games begin!

Why not end subsidies?

I know the consumers would revolt but just offering unlocked, unsubsidized devices would allow the carriers to focus on their networks. I don't have to buy a different TV if i want to switch between cable or satellite or fios.Let device manufactures make devices and allow the customer to choose the device and the network.

Awesome videos and pics

This camera phone will make for excellent recording of impromptu events. The accuracy of the zoom and the excellent recording microphones make it great to capture almost anything. Can't wait to get it.

Congrats Nokia, you will sell 100 phones

This phone is so hot, its gonna do just as well as the Nokia n900. Yea I'm sure you remember the one , with Maemo, the where Nokia lost 50 million on one phone.
So Nokia wants to put out an awesome camera phone, Why not put it in something they're promoting like windows ? Why bother with a dead OS like symbian. Really bizarre. Nokia needs to fire Stephen Elop before he bankrupts the company.

Interesting

I saw the ad for

www.smartphonebetatest.com/

I thought it was someone making fun of the original Blackberry Storm. Of course I went to the site. Sort of ironic that this happened to them. Those who live in glass houses should probably think twice about tossing stones.

"Rebate" is a $100 bill credit

I applaud Nokia and AT&T for doing the "right" thing.
The $100 bill credit will post on your next bill cycle. No "predpaid debit cards" or paperwork or phone calls. Just buy one through 4/21 and you're good!
The update is slated for the 16th, but only a small percentage of the handsets are experiencing this issue. If you are in fact experiencing the problem, take it back to your store and get a new one. Boom. Done.

How do I get my rebate?

I love my Lumia 900, but money is money, so how do I go about getting my rebate or credit? Do I have to request it or will it be credited to my bill? Any idea? Can't beat free.
