2012 OS firmware update

Has anyone been having problems with the new update? From apps disappearing to the touch screen not functioning, I'm currently tired of the optimus I once loved. I've had it o and seems like it should be kver a year now and have had no mentionable issues until just recently. The screen double taps, making typing, browsing, game play, and even dialing frustrating and sometimes nearly impossible. Dropped calls, lost messages, failed notifications.....I almost can't deal with it anymore. It looks nice and SEEMS like it should be great, but so does an apple until you find the hole the worm crawled thru and munched on the core. I've contacted sprint and emailed LG but nothing has come of it so far. I love this phone and am more than happy to keep...

playlists

I'm on the Optimus V. Does anyone else encounter issues with organizing playlists? Songs don't move to the right spots and my playlists get messed up.

Is there a different music app that handles playlists correctly?

Optimus V FCC ID

BEJVM670 belongs to Optimus V only. Correct me if I am wrong, but Sprint base network is PCS only (850 available via roaming partners) so Optimus V is a single band phone.

Agree?

mobile hotspot issue solved download tether widget

I picked up the optimus s yesterday and I kept getting the network error as well when trying to enable hotspot. Come to find out all you need to do is download a wifi tether widget to turn it on and then it will activate it. The widget I downloaded is called share switcher. Sprint will not charge $30 for the mobile hotspot since that only applies to 4G phones.... awsome phone!

Take care

Unknown Error 18

Ever since I downloaded the next update from Sprint I keep getting a "unknown error-18" when I try to download apps. Any ideas what this might be going on and what I need to do to fix it? 😕

Charger Port

Is there a little cover or flap for the charger? Kind of an operculum, so some wear and tear doesn't happen? I'm not sure what to call it.

I've had issues with chargers before and a little thing covering it has helped in the past.

Keyboard

I've been wanting to purchase an Optimus V through Virgin Mobile, obviously, however I'm wondering about the keyboard.

I've heard its rather hard to text because the screen is particularly small. Is it really? And does it have the ability to be rotated and the keyboard rotates to a wider keyboard?

I'm a heavy texter and don't want to get this phone if it becomes a hassle.

preparing sd card and spontaneous reboots

Bought two of these phones and both are having SD card issues. Exchanged one of the two and it does the same thing.

All 3 say "preparing SD card" several times a day (at least). I tried a 2gb sandisk sd card instead of the samsung 2gb card that comes with it - same thing. Apps installed to the sd card disappear from the apps menu then mysteriously reappear. Also shortcuts on the main screen change to a default icon then may change back when they feel like it.

Also getting spontaneous reboots - not sure if this is related to the sd card issue.

Will likely return these before the 30 day period is over. ☚ī¸

LG Optimus S

This phone is not available as of today from Sprint nor do they know when it will be.

Sprint is STILL showing us that they are failing on customer service and info about launch dates.

Even there sales people have no idea about the phone or when it will be release.

Very sad and I thought they had things changed for the better.

FM tuner like Optimus One?

Title says it all. Is there a built in FM Tuner similar to the other Optimus?

Good Replacement for Instinct?

Thanks for your review Philip. I'd like to ask you and anyone else if you think this would be a good replacement for an original sph m800 Instinct? I primarily use it for email (gmail, yahoo, hotmail, outlook calendar), visual voicemail, live search, weather, browsing, sprint NAV occasionally, TV occasionally, music and camera occasionally. However, I like having 2 batteries. I want to upgrade but can't justify $10/mo for an evo or epic w/o 4g service. Would this work and be better than the Transform? Thanks

What does it mean to not have flash?

I see that the Optimus S doesn't have Flash capability.

For those of us who don't understand the implication of that, please explain.

What types of sites can't we see? Is there some way to work around it? Etc.

Thanks for the review. I am thinking of getting this phone, but according to your review, I have to check the phone call quality and the battery life.
