and the strangeness continues
About a week ago the deafult view of my calendar switched from monthly to daily; then, this am the default view changed back to monthly, and midday the defualt view is the agenda....makes no sense how the default view keeps changing, esp as there is no way to change the default view (yes, you can change the views, but the default view is the most backstepped view prior to being back on the homescreen).

I was able to figure it out.
"Default View" is definitely the wrong terminology.
The key is that Calendar preserves your view history between invocations.
So, if you open the Calendar, and it's in Agenda view, then change to month view, then to week view, then exit, when you start it again, it will be on week view, pressing back will take you to month view, then agenda view.
The next thing is that the history stack will preserve your view order, but each view is only stored once in the stack. So if you go agenda>day>month>week>day>week>month, pressing back will bring you, in order, week,day,agenda. It doesn't bring month again, because you were just on month, and doesn't bring week or day the second time, either.
