switch from QWERTY to multi tap texting

I know you can now switch to landscape for easier messaging but is it at all possible to also switch the keyboard from the QWERTY keyboard to the T9 Multi-tap like you can on the HTC pro? I know this kinds sounds silly but I usually only have one hand on my phone anyways and I'm just so used to T9 that I can't part with it when I'm sending my short messages

I found this but it isn't exactly what i'm looking for ... »

Take the plunge?

I have been a Verizon and Blackberry User for over 5 years. I have the often buggy Storm and am thinking of taking the plunge on the Iphone 3GS. I here spotty things about AT&T's network and Verizon is coming out with the Blackberry Tour in 2 weeks. Any thoughts?

As an employee for an AT&T call center, I'm sick of receiving calls about provisioning MMS for the iPhone. It is not available and wont be available until later this summer. No, there is no date on it but it WILL be available eventually. I hope at least some of you read this before deciding to wait on hold for AT&T to answer your call.

Does anyone know why the compass does not give the right reading? When I first got the 3GS, I tested it by aiming it toward the North but got a reading it was West. At the time, I thought I might be wrong so I dismissed it. However, when I got in my car and compared the reading to my navigational system compass and showed that the 3GS was way off. Went home and tested it with an old fashion compass and it too verified my findings...

iPhone or AT&Ts fault?

First off, I'm very happy with my phone. This is just something that has peaked my interest.

The speaker phone quality on the iphone has always been average at best... is this the iphones fault or at&ts call quality?

I always assumed it was the phone, but it seems the speaker on the phone keeps getting better with every model (2G, 3G, 3GS). I could be wrong but thats how it seems to me.

Anyways, I noticed the quality of the Voice Memo app is phenomenal. Loud, crisp and clear. Even if you record a song from another speaker, the quality is great, and loud. This got me thinking, the iphones speaker seems to have the volume and clarity capabilities .. so does mean that the at&t network is what holds back the quality of the speaker ...

Other recommendations besides the iPHONE?

U had an iPhone 2g and loved it except it was impossible to text on without looking at the screen, no mms, etc.

It died and I went back to my old razr. Now that is on its last leg and I need to upgrade.

The iphone has come a long way but still seems to be lacking in a few areas...mainly the texting.

Is there anything else out there that even comes close and can be used on ATT network? I was thinking about the Nokia N95?

Any recommendations?

Possible Bug In My 3G S?

I may have found a bug in my new iPhone. When I send a video (which is surprisingly good for a cell phone), it says an "error has occurred and cannot send", but the people I'm sending it to receive multiple copies. I've taken a lot of abuse over this. It only happens with video, not still pictures. Also, this phone doesn't seem to connect as easy to my wireless network as my 3G iPhone did. I wonder if I have a faulty phone? This is really "bugging" me.

How were the lines in the apple store? (Feedback appreciated)

I was looking to upgrade from 3G to 3GS, just curious how the lines in the apple store were and if they are selling out like usual.

I remember for the last 2 iphone releases, the lines were out the door and a lot of places sold out.

Is this phone in as much demand? Thanks

iPhone 3GS didn't restore to latest version?

I just bought the 3GS (upgrading from the 3G) and when I came home to restore to latest settings, it restored to a very old version.

I did notice that the drop down menu of what to restore had two options but they were the same name "iPhone" ... maybe I chose the wrong one?

I still have my 3G available, how can I update my 3GS to look like my 3G? Any help highly appreciated. thanks

When are ALL of you morons gonna learn....

SOME people prefer McDonalds, SOME prefer Burger King...SOME people prefer GM, SOME people prefer Ford...SOME people prefer Cable TV, SOME people prefer Sat TV.

What this is all about is CHOICE!!! AT&T, Verizon, Sprint...ALL of them have positives and negatives.

For the AVERAGE CONSUMER, the ONLY things they place much emphasis on is calling and texting, thats it! People care about what their bill is, THATS IT!

As useful as these forums are, all this arguing is COMPLETELY stupid and off topic.

Upgrade options for new iPhone 3Gs

If you purchased an iPhone 3G back in July, August or September of 2008 and have maintained service with AT&T at a monthly rate of at least $99.99 per month for your one line, you will be eligible for upgrade to the new phone tomorrow June 19th.

I hope this helps out anyone who is really looking to grab the new iPhone 3Gs.

Also a quick reminder all iPhone 2/3G can upgrade today to the new iPhone 3.0 OS. And unfortunately MMS and Data Tethering will not be available until later this summer. You will however receive a free text message when its available.
