Apple iPhone 3GS

Hi, I am a first time iPhone user and I have a problem that I am guessing is unique to me since I cant find any information anywhere. So, I have had the 3G S for about 2 weeks now and i have had no problems until today. This afternoon, i let my phone battery run out as normal before connecting it to the charger and after about 20 minutes of it being hooked up I noticed it hadnt come back on yet. So i turned it on and it was a white screen and would turn off, it did this for about 5 minutes and then I reset it and it worked normal. Well, just a minute ago I plugged the phone in to charge on the OEM included charger and the screen zoomed in so close that i cant access stuff with out using 3 fingers to move around the screen.
