Palm Treo Pro OR Blackberry Tour?

I can't decide which one to go with. Pro has touch screen, Wifi, etc. The Tour has Global abilities, nicer camera, etc. Any thoughts?

Time to DITCH PALM!!!

I am totally disgusted with Palm and their tech support, anytime you try call them, they KNOW NOTHING about their phones.
I am getting ready to upgrade to a Blackberry Tour looks alot better and seems like Blachberry cares more about their customers than Palm does.
Windows Mobile 6.5 has been out for a few months now and Palm doesn't seem to care about upgrading the problem with the PalmTreoPro and Windows Mobile 6.1.
So I am guessing it is BUH BYE PALM!!!! Your company sucks and from what I have seen of the Pre, no one likes that hunk of junk!

The Palm Treo Pro launches 03/15/09

Our retail store's Wireless Device Advocate has been carrying the Palm Treo Pro for the past month. This Sunday, the day one of our corporate retail stores gets closed (Store Manager is taking a severance package, the other 3 employees, 2 LRCs and 1 RC are being transferred to a nearby store) as well as the retail stores in our city are holding a mandatory 3 hour Ready Now! for Business, the Palm Treo Pro launches.

Activating Sprint Treo Pro on Verizon?

Has anyone yet tried activating a Sprint Treo Pro on Verizon's network?

I can't imagine the activation would be too difficult, as long as Verizon wouldn't block another carrier's ESN (do they even do that?).

Phone Ringing during call.

Anyone else upset where the phone rings normal while during a call when you receive a SMS or MMS message?
Palm today decided to give me a line that all phones ring like that when you get a text while on a call.
I really don't like the idea how while I am talking on the phone to someone and I get blasted in the ear with ring tone when I receive a text message.
They tell me that is all OK. and it won't do anything to your hearing.

Fit to screen in Internet Explorer...? Anyone?

So, bought two of these now (myself and wife)...LOVE THE PHONE. But one thing is driving me freakin' nutts! HORIZONTAL SCROLL in internet explorer...

I seem to recall in WM6 (6.1? Earlier?) there was a "zoom level --> fit to screen" option...this option isn't on the Sprint Treo Pro - Anyone found a way to do this?

Sure, there is a setting for mobile mode and desktop mode for viewing sites, but the mobile mode still scrolls horizontally (on sites that our old 755P and 700wx do not scroll horizontally on)...Neither the desktop or mobile settings fix this...

Any/all help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Response on Chapelhill review of this phone

"Finally HUGE plus... Someone finally remembered to put the charging port back on the bottom of the phone. It's about time. I think this is because (I think) this phone is manufactured by HTC. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong."

Actually I've owned I'm sure all Treo's since the 650, all have always had the charging port on the bottom...so it's not remembering to do it with palm/treo's, it's one difference between a Q and the Treo.

As for the screen unlock, that's also been the same on all Treos (WM AND Palm OS).

Quick/Moderate Review

My wife and I are on VZW, long story short the only phones we're comfortable with are WM Treo's. VZW obviously doesn't have a new one, Sprint is $110/month cheaper for us than VZW, so when the 800w hit we tried it...I tried it for about 2 weeks, thought it was ok, not amazing but not bad either. Ported our numbers over, within 24 hours my wife was demanding to go back to VZW as she hated the call quality (voice quality and dropped call issues). We went back to VZW a few days later (couldn't talk her out of it, she hated it).

Yesterday I got the Treo Pro from Sprint and this time GAVE IT TO MY WIFE. So far she's had it for 24 hours and likes it, by this time on the previous run she hated Sprint (not the 800w).

Seems that maybe there w...

Just got the PalmTreoPro

😁 Great phone so far, traded my PalmTreo800w in today for it, Very nice phone, PICTURE MAIL just like a regular cellphone no App needed. Lots to learn, but thought I would give a little info on the phone, being at this time there is NO WHERE to find out anything on this phone, not Even Sprint Tech or sales can tell you anything on the phone.

Treo Pro but not for Sprinters

I don't understand Palm & Sprint at all😕 I like the treo 800w, don't take me wrong, but com'on Palm & Sprint!!! Why insulting your devoted customers, and betraying them☹️ I realize that both models have almost same specs but the Pro has the better battery, 3.5 mm headphone jack and faster processor, not to mention the sleek looks!!! Why only for AT & T (they alrerady have the freakin' iphone & now they're getting the LG InVision, Sony's Ericsson W350, etc..) Why not releasing treo 800w for us "Sprinters" in the same mold as the treo Pro. Can someone please explain the logic & fairness from all this!!!! 😡 😢

lookin real good..

..but it amazes me that palm refuses to equip their phones with a flash for the camera. For what I use my Smartphone for, the Palm is always rendered useless and this one is again no different. HTC Rocks in this area for me.
