synchronizing/transferring files

I transferred .wav files from my digital recorder to my pc and then to my phone. I tried playing the file from the phone and got the error: playback failed.

Why?

Thanks for the help.

Keypad

Anybody that has this phone-are you having any problems with the keys cracking/splitting like the W580's? Don't want to waste my money on a phone whose keypad is guaranteed to crack like the W580 did for me twice!!

ways to increase battery life

Just curious, is it possible to turn off the 3G usage on this phone to get better battery life?

I love ericsson phones and this is the only one ATT has up right now, but 3.5 hours of talk time is pathetic, I hate running from charger to charger.

Anyone find a way to get decent battery life out of one of these?

Walkman player in the W760 & W580

Does anybody here know the difference between the Walkman player in the W760 (v3.0) and the Walkman player in the W580 (v2.0)?

GPS

I just got this phone today and was interested in using the GPS. However, I do not want to spend $9 a month for at&t navigator.

Is there a way I can use the gps for free? I don't pay a montly fee for my garmin, so why should I pay for my phone?

MP3s as ringtones...

I am considering buying this phone, but I've noticed many reviews mention that you can't use downloaded music for ringtones. Is this true? Is this true of all MP3 files? What CAN you use for ringtones....just stuff downloaded from AT&T?

Replacement LCD?

I was a proud new owner of the w760. The phone is amazing actually, but about 20 days ago the LCD cracked on me. I'm not sure what could have caused this to happen as i was doing very menial tasks the day it happened, not to mention it was in a protective case as well. The horrible part is that now the screen is blank (aside from the hair line crack) so it's not like i can use it with just a crack in the display. I never got the insurance which is very unfortunate because to repair it costs more than i bought it for, plus not really in the mood to shell out more cash.

So my question is: Does anyone know about a distributor that will sell the LCD screen by itself? I found it on eBay (Hong Kong) and another site that sells them in the UK. ...

MP3 ringtones

Anyone know if there is a file size limitation for them?
The ones that worked on my W810i do not work on the W760i I just purchased.

Thanks!

AT&T ready?

So, could we see AT&T pick this phone up? AT&T hasn't released any phones with 3 MP cameras other than the Tilt so far. This phone seems to be AT&T ready as it has both of AT&Ts 3G bands (850/1900) plus the international 2100 band.

Very disappointed

This review is disappointing.

The W760a is one the of best media phones (non-PDA) phones out for any carrier right now. It's incredibly sturdy, and these keys are NOT hard to find or press.

We have sold plenty of these phones out of our store and aside from the V9x, I would recommend it for everyone wanting something less than a PDA.

I don't understand this "Stephen Wolpin's" incessant use of the word "gimmick" in this review. Like seriously, wtf is a gimmick on this phone? It all performs fine.

For anyone not too sure, here is a definition of the word gimmick:

A device employed to cheat, deceive, or trick, especially a mechanism for the secret and dishonest control of gambling apparatus.

Now you effing tell me, what...

Proprietary Headset jack?

I'm surprised at the comment that your unable to use your own headset of choice. It was my experience with several international versions of the Sony Ericsson Walkman phones that the headset disconnects with a 3.5mm adaptor at the microphone, thus allowing you the freedom to use your earphones of choice and secondly, maintaining the mic, in case of an incomming call.

Speakers look stereo

From my time on the w760 i believe the speakers are stereo, compared to the w580. There are 2 holes for them in the front, compared to the one on the w580. Since they're not spaced far apart, it doesn't particuarly sound distinctly stereo unless you compare i believe.
