phantom text messages

Long time user first time submitter. I recently purchased The Dark Knight Nokia 6205 and so far I enjoy it. One problem, I keep getting empty pic messages from nobody. Has anyone else had this problem or have any insight as to what this could be? I have received all sorts of messages, but almost daily I have been getting these "Phantom Pic Messages" and i usually get 2 or 3 of them sent at the same time. Please somebody help me out.

Does anyone know when the Nokia 6205, the blue and silver one will be available at the Verizon stores? Seems like they only have the Batman one now. Any info will be greatly appreciated, thanks!! 😕

Bluetooth functionality

Here are the bluetooth profiles supported:

Headset
Handsfree
Dial Up Networking
Phonebook Access
Basic Printing
Object Push
File Transfer

Using both Linux and Windows XP I have pushed files to the phone. The problem with pushing mp3s is, the Bluetooth inbox resides in the limited onboard memory. You can move the file to the micro-SD card, but it only offers to put it in the "Sounds" directory. The music player with front-button functionality (rewind, pause, ff) does not work from the Sounds directory. Except for removing the micro-SD card and moving the files on a PC, I haven't been able to work around this annoyance.

USB Data Cable

You can charge and sync over USB with a micro-USB B cable (to sync requires drivers and software).

I am using this phone with a Motorola RAZR2 V8 V9 V9M Q9h USB Data Cable - Original (OEM) SKN6238A. These are less than $4 online.

Device level information

On a linux machine, this phone binds to the cdc_acm driver (/dev/ttyACM0 on my machine). You can connect to it with a terminal emulator and it responds to limited AT commands, identifying itself as a NOKIA 6205(BALBOA).

Here is the usb vendor and product info while bound to the cdc_acm driver:

ID 0421:00a3 Nokia Mobile Phones

While in this mode, gnokii can't do anything useful. Neither does bitpim (at least not in Linux).

If you place the phone in Sync mode, the cdc_acm driver is unloaded, and this is the vendor and product info:

ID 05c6:3196 Qualcomm, Inc. CDMA Wireless Modem

Unfortunately, I have not found a Linux driver for it in this mode. In Windows XP, sync mode will allow WMP to transfer music (with the Verizo...

I went by my Verizon store today and they knew nothing about the phone or if they are getting any. Anybody know when they will be in?

Specific Setting Question

I know this is lame but does anyone know how to remove the blue bar at the bottom of the screen/exterior LCD. I really like those Batman pictures and the baby blue is killing me! I noticed it popped up when I was adjusting my ringer options. Thanks.
