lg vx5400 Issues to Verizon techies

I have 2 of them, mine seems to work fine, but I had to exchange my wife's phone, the signal
constantly fades, if I have 3 bars, her phone only 1. The 2nd of her phones is doing the same. Help me out because, she wants to go back to the old LG-VX4650. We never had a problem with these ones.

camera picture id feature

I have a vx5400 phone and had a question about it. Take a picture and then save it. Go under your pictures and select that one, go under options and choose set as, picture id. Then select a contact to assign it to. Then have that contact call you cell. Does the picture show up on the front screen when they call?

Most phones from Verizon should do this but I don't think that this one does. I want to make sure though.

Thanks, Mike

Voice Mail for FIOS voice mail

Hi,
I just got FIOS voice mail and I am having trouble setting it up in speed dial.
I want to be able to set it up so it will dial the voice mailbox and than dial my home number and than put in the pass word.
I've been trying different ways with the wait, the pause, the 2 second pause and the # key but I can't seem to crack the code to set it up.
I had no problem when I was on Optimum voice mailbox.
Any ideas how I can set it up would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Ringtones

How do you get free ringtones? Is there a way without using bitpim?

can I do this?

1) on the VX-5400 will I be able to close the calmshell top and still talk on speakerphone or will that shut me down?

2) can the battery be recharged in a chager by itself or ONLY while in the phone? So if I purchase an extra battery I'll need the phone in order to charge it?

3)if I'm using VZ Navigator in my car and the phone rings what happens? Can I answer the phone while still looking at the map/directions?

LG VX-5400 Missed Call Reminder

Does the LG VX-5400 on Verizon have a persistent missed call alert reminder - not just the beep when the call is first received and not answered, but a beep and/or vibrate every minute or so until you take action with the phone? If not, do any of the current LG Verizon phones have this feature? thanks

Speakerphone Not So Good... :(

Played around with the 5400 at a VZW store recently, and while I liked many aspects of the phone (plus it was a bit smaller than I thought it was going to be), the SPEAKERPHONE on it leaves a lot to be desired, sadly. 😲

It's very muddy and kinda distorted sounding, even at moderate volumes. It might be okay for someone who either has never heard a good speakerphone, or who uses it only rarely (i.e. when you're put on hold, or to check voicemail), but to me, not acceptable.

Weird, considering the 8350 costs only 20 bucks more, yet has a much better speakerphone. THIS is where LG decided to save the money? Ugh.

Kinda sucks. I was gonna recommend this phone to a friend of mine who wanted trimode and bluetooth on the same ph...

Anyone know how to....

Does anyone know of a way to put the digital clocks on the VX5400 into 24-hour time?

It may seem odd, but for digital clocks I really prefer a 24-hour time display instead of am/pm

Nice Entry-level phone, but a bit pricey...

Like this phone from what I've seen of it, and may suggest it to a friend (who wants trimode and bluetooth in the same phone, and doesn't want to gamble on crappy, unreliable Motorolas- she got burned by them with the V265/276).

My only beef is the price... with no EVDO and only a VGA (640x480 res) camera, its definitely an entry-level phone, but at $119 w/a 2-yr contract (not counting online discounts or mail-in rebate), it's priced only $10 less than LG's midrange offering, the 8350.

Seems like that's pushing it a bit, considering that the 8350 has EVDO and a 1.3 megapixel camera.

Probably more like $79-99 w/a 2-yr (again, not counting online disc or MIR) is about what this phone's worth.
