turn off DC

Can we turn off dc or use profiles with the 902? I hope so. This phone lacks so much of the simple stuff.

Transfer contacts from ic902?

Just curious, has anyone found a free and easy way to transfer contacts from the ic902? I tried a few different things and none of them worked.
😕
Thanks.

Status light

I have the ic902 & so far I like it but all of a sudden, when I get a call, the status light only blinks red. If my battery is low, the status light doesn't blink and when I'm charging my phone, there's no blinking green light. I know there's supposed to be an amber light too but I don't have that either. Anyone else have this problem?

Bluetooth version, 2.0, 2.1....

I read the manual, I can't find the BLUETOOTH VERSION for the ic902. Obviously, I have done the minimum amount of research. My goal is to find the "best" bluetooth earpiece. Any help is appreciated. The later versions of BT seem to be more secure. thanks

ic902 is deleting my contacts?!

Greetings -

Has anyone experienced an issue where contact entries are being deleted/removed from the phone automatically?

One day the contact is there, next day it's gone.

Just wondering if it's a buggy phone or something else...

thanks,
Nataswon 😁

Some mp3's won't play

-bought ic902
-plug into computer with mini usb
-set connect as mass storage device
-copied all songs from Pink Floyd, The Wall, Disk 1 and 2 into MUSIC file
-Disconnect
-Started Music Player and picked "ALL MY MUSIC"

About half the songs are there.

I can find them in the file tool/file manager menu.

They are from my disks...not stolen.

And it's repeatable. I formated the card...coppied the same songs over and the same ones show up in the library.

Any ideas on whats wrong?

Does it with other disks as well..not just Pink Floyd.

Thanks for any help.

Status Light

If I've missed a call I can't get the status light to quit flashing without power cycling the phone.
And no I don't want to just turn off the status light in the "settings".
Is there a fix? Am I missing something? What gives?

The last time I had Nextel was about 6 yrs ago and i'm not aware of too many people I know with the walkie talkie feature but this phone looks too good to resist...Any feedback or helpful input would greatly be appreciated. Thanx!!

Single Band Phone

This phone runs on only CDMA1900. Most Sprint phones are at least dual band. Could this be a problem with signal strength or when roaming?
I rarely have any problems with my current
two band phone from Sprint

help w/ ic902 please..

I tried sending some ringtones from funformobile.com to my ic902 and I get a popup window saying this:

1. Read the text message with a web link.
2. Open the link, connect via Internet.
3. Follow the appropriate prompts to download the ringtone.

I get the text message on my phone and when I "go to" the link, it shows: NOT FOUND. FYI, I DO have data/web access through Sprint/Nextel.

Any help would be appreciated, thanx.

P.s. If I buy the data cable with software cd for this phone, is it possible to download ringtones into my phone that way? Thanx again.

Sprint's phone lack... everything

Ok, I would be fooling to switch from Sprint because my grandfather'd plan with free 2nd line and free internet and free nights & weekends and free unlimited texting and free unlimited picture mail and free unlimited mobile to mobile and free PCS to PCS with a corporate employer discount ~AND~ a retention discount could never be matched by any other provider... BUT Sprint's phones SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK!!

Questions about this phone

I got to play with one today and its rather nice for a motorola. They usually totally fubar the GUI but this one lacks all the things that make me hate motorola.

OK does it play MP3's as ringers? (I know it will not from the SD (it can but they won't let them) I mean can I use rumkin and upload an mp3 or m4a file or MUST I convert to QCP?

Is there anyway to make the video player go full screen? I pressed * while playing a video and it switched modes but the "status icons" on the top row were still visible (quite annoying)

How much "INTERNAL" memory does the phone have IE space where I can store ringers and applications?? I hear everything from 12MB to 120MB :-(

Can I backup the contact to the SD card like the sanyo's will?

Can...

Email capability?

So I'm finally almost able to get rid of this hunk of garbage PPC-6700. Don't get me wrong, it was nice at first, but the battery doesn't last more than 4 hours anymore (with BT and WiFi OFF), freezes multiple times per day, etc etc.

It's time to move on. My only real requirements are speakerphone, bluetooth and email. The PTT is a huge bonus and the camera is nice too.

Long story short, does the ic902 have *any* type of email support other than over a web browser? Sprint's spec page says it does, but it isn't very specific. All I need to do is to hit a single IMAP server and I'm good.

Soooo.. IMAP or POP3 support on this handset?

Thanks!

Coverage in Southern California

I am thinking of switching to Sprint/Nextel and getting the direct connect.

What are peoples experience regarding reception of regular Sprint cell phone and Nextel direct connect in the southern California area? I am mainly in the Long Beach and Manhattan Beach area.

Thanks

phone might be great but coverage is horrible

I travel a lot and need a phone that works in remote areas. this is a great concept. I like PTT and have the regular sprint powervision phone with ready link PPT. my phones will need upgraded soon and the only phones with PPT now are powersource phones like the ic902. The coverage map on sprint for powersource phones is horrible when you compared it to the coverage map of the Power vision phones. this is due to the fact that the ic902 only roams on the digital 1900 system and not the 800 system. this fact alone makes this phone a poor choice for me due to the fact that I travel to remote areas with only digital 800 is available. I will stick with my M1 Powervision sprint phone until they come out with a phone that roams everywhere

Ringtone Problems

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but at times my 902 will not play my downloaded ring tones causing me to miss call. It also will not play them when used in conjuction with the alarm clock. When I notice that the tomes are not playing, If I turn the phone off and then back on it will the ringers for awhile. Anyone have any ideas?
