Samsung SYNC SGH-A707

Saw in the Sunday paper they are offering this phone in Red. Buy one get one free or buy one get one for 49.99 Can't remember, but anyways went to the website and they didn't even have on-line?? Anybody else have seen this color??? Thanks

Just purchased the SYNC and have these questions, please.

1) Problem when trying to change function of the Navigation (D-Pad). Manual says to press the key and then select options. If I press the > right key, the Options does not appear, just the IM selction of AIM, Yahoo, etc. I don't find a way to change it. Any suggestion will certainly be appreciated.

2) How can I create shortcuts to drill down into some menus? Can they be assigned to keypad numbers as in other phones?

Has anyone, or does any one know how to take apart the lcd portion of the phone. My phone has a smudge on the lcd where the plastic is pressed against it and I am thinking that if I remove it i could put something in there to keep it from touching. I would rather do this than get a new phone and have to redo all the settings that took me a month of tinkering to get right. So far i took out the two screws on the bottom of the lcd but it seems like the only way to get the plastic over off would be to force it and I dont want to risk breaking it. Thanks for any help.

I bought this phone a couple days ago and I am still learning so I will wait a while to post a review. But one thing I can't figure out. I have read the manual and I cannot find anyway to save pics I receive in messages.

The whole message is saved in the inbox of course including any text sent with the message; however, I cannot find anyway to save the picture, ONLY, so it can be used as wallpaper, etc. This was a very simple function with my previous Razr.

Can someone please tell me if this is possible, and if so, how is it done?

I saw where you can move it to a folder, but it moves the whole message including the text that was sent with the message. Is there anyway just to save the picture to be used as a graphic?

Connecting with USB cable (Cingular ) PC does not recognize device. Installed PC Studio 3 and tried to connect phone is not recognized. Help !

1. Inability to turn off the sounds in camera mode, even when the phone is in silent mode. (someone mentioned that this is because people are taking too many candid shots...BS. There is no law against taking shots of folks without them knowing, so I don't see how this even has any bearing)

2. Limited customization of lots of different options, including...visualization when playing music, animation that plays when making or receiving a call or when a call is connected, color of clock that displays on the outside of the phone (text and face with analog) the ads on cingular show blue I get no option for that on mine, inability to customize menu options, putting the most used at the top (I never use cingular mall, medianet, cingular vide...

I'm looking at the Sync, the w810, the KRZR, and the 3125.

I listen to audible.com audiobooks alot. They don't list the Sync as a useable device, but do list devices that use WMP for syncing and transfer.

Has anyone tried using WMP to transfer an audible.com book to the Sync, and then listen to it?

Also, it sounds like the highest bitrate the phone supports for ripped music is around 160kbps, correct?

Has anyone tried using the alarm to wake up in the morning?

Anyone know of a posted pic taken by the camera at 2MB?

Can I get some help in adjusting speaker volumn - even changing the profile to outside does not help - and I'm not even a crumudgeon. Just cant seem to hear it well enough without plugging ears. Is there also a way to quickly change over to spaekerphone?

...I just purchased my SYNC two weeks ago, and a SanDisk2GB tonight viz the 'Bay. I'm now looking to get a nice set of BT headphones to listen to the 'gobs' of music I'm going to load this phone down with, and have found myself attracted to the Motorola HT820.

My question is, does this headset work with the Samsung SYNC?

I never understood the plan of free roaming when you don't even get the option to use it???? I got this phone because of all the band width

Thinking if I was stuck somewhere I would still get network. None???? Why doesn't cingular phones go to other networks if it's free roaming. Or what can I do to set up my phone to look for another signal if there isn't any network? Thank you

I just got the phone today. How do I access the XM radio?

i've heard a few people unable to silent the keypad so i figured it out, since i myself like it silent. so you go to profiles and edit the one you're using. go all the way to the right to the phone sounds and scroll all the way down then adjust the keypad/phone sound volume. i dont think this affects the camera shutter sound. if this is a repost i'm sorry but i did a search and didn't find a thread about this issue.

I want to download music from my pc to my Sync, what kind of usb cable do I need and where do I get it??? Also, do I have to have the micro sd card to do this? Thanks!!!

cinglar.com description mentions yahoo music (on a comparison chart with all the music phones) this particular phone has "yahoo music" checked...........does that mean i can listen to my yahoo launch cast on this phone??

how does the SYNC perform as far as RF in a GSM/EDGE-only zone and is there a way to put the SYNC in GSM mode with a menu option, i live in a 3G area, im just curious if i can put it in GSM mode if i wanted to do it, and i know it can be done automatically but i want to know if someone can manually do it as u can on the CU500

I'm looking for a phone that will make calls well, and play my music. They both have music players and both have great cameras. I won't use the 3G on the Sync, but I'm not ecstatic about the candy bar style of the w810.

What do you all think?

I'm not having much luck using the Samsung PC Studio software with my A707.

Off Samsung's website, I downloaded the latest version for the A707 and installed it. I have a TRENDnet bluetooth dongle. It connects to my phone just fine using SPP. I then can connection using the PC Studio software using SPP.

However, every time I try to access "Manage Contacts and more", I get this error box:
"Another PC Studio programme is performing a time-consuming operation. Retry after this operation is finished."

I can upload a photo using the "Manage Photos" app.

Any advice?

hi, i have the sync and wmp isnt working on my computer to sync mucis to my phone, windows media player just closes down as soon as i try to sync the song to the phone. i put a few songs on the phone via my brothers laptop and used wmp, so i know it can be done. ANY ADVICE???? thanks.
