pearl troubles!
i called tech support and they had me try and reload the applications using the software. every time i double clicked application loader on the desktop manager it went to "not responding..." the tech support guy told me to download the handset software online but i had to do it later because, alas, the bb is my modem...
so i download the device software onto someone else's computer and it crashed their computer (not responding, froze, etc)
i tried on another computer and it did what my computer did...
i am now on my work computer and it went through but once I got to the ...

anyways, RIM sent me a warranty replacement after 2 hours of trying to install different things and even writing a program and dos ultimately resulting in further frustration. They were all very nice and as helpful as possible...
my replacement works much better than my original device ever did- i didn't have anything to compare the first one to but this new one blows it out of the water on speed and even seems more physically solid.
