'Failed to open Outlook' Sync to Outlook 2003 WinXP Home

Man, I've been on the useless nokia support line 3 nights in a row trying to get my 6620 to sync w/ Outlook 2003 (w/ Office SP1).

1st I installed 6.1 PC Suite which came on the CD from ATTWS. Then I downloaded 6.3 from nokia.com. I called US support and they said use 6.2 from NokiaUSA.com.

I rebuilt my Outlook 2003 profile. I Un-installed ran reg clean and re-installed 6.2. I still get the dreaded 'failed to open' error. I can't even change the settings. When I bring up the advanced menu to alter the profile, the old profile shows up in the combo box which perplexes me b/c the profile was deleted. Then when I switch to the new profile and click OK the Sync applet window turns white, doesn't redraw and the sync process just bloats in me...

Cannot sync with Outlook 2003

My Nokia 6360 died on Tuesday. AT&T sold me a Nokia 6620 the same day and migrated me over to their GSM network. The phone itself is great. However, I have been pulling my hair out trying to get it to synchronize with MS Outlook 2003. I have spent a cummulative 6+ hours on the phone with Nokia Tech Support, who have been USELESS. I have tried USB, Bluetooth (bought a BT USB adapter) and InfraRed. I can successfully sync with my Outlook Express Address book (which only has email addresses), but I cannot sync with MS Outlook 2003 at all. The error message I get from Nokia PC Suite 6.1 (and I've tried 6.2 with the same exact error) is : "Failed to open outlook". One of the Nokia support reps thinks that Outlook 2003 on an exchange serve...

3595 replacement?

I got the 3595 as an upgrade about six months ago and I really don't like it. I can't stand the keypad (I know you can change it but I haven't found any covers/buttons that I like - at least, not ones that fit my phone). Also, it echoes. Sometimes, when I make or receive calls, I get an echo of myself which is very distracting.

But, I really like nokias - I'm the only person I know who gets good reception in my apartment.

Does anyone have any suggestions for an upgrade? I don't need a camera or any PDA-type features, just a color screen and polyphonic ring tones. Speaking of ring tones, I also dislike that I have to pay an extra fee for t-zones (I'm with t-mobile) if I want to download pictures or tones.

Thanks for the advice...

Is there a Nokia World phone in the works?

I read a reply from vzcustsvc in the Samsung SCH-A790 forum that said something about watching for a new release from Nokia that would be a true world phone. Anyone know anything about it and what the specs would be?

Choosing the best phone!!!

Hi, Im from NY, USA, and my contract for tmobile is ending soon so I want to renew it but im having difficulty selecting the right phone. I want the best phone possible which has a good mp3 player, loud speakers, speakerphone, a good video camera, a good color screen, and possible blue tooth also. Im sorry for asking for too much!
So can you all please post some phones you think I should get according to my selection description.. thanx... Post phones that are with the tmobile carrier, and also phones that are not with tmobile, cuz I can possibly unlock the phone to work with my tmobile service....

PS - Post phones that are already released and coming soon perhaps a week or so.... THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Phone upgrade info needed please.

Please excuse what I'm sure is a very basic question, but I've searched the site and cannot find the answer.

My wife and I each have 5190 phones on the Cingular network. Hers seems to be starting to fail so I'd like to replace it with another simple, unflashy but newer phone and it seems the 3360 looks good. The question is, what is involved with a phone upgrade as far as the carrier? Say I buy a 3360 on Ebay - what then? Just switch the sim, or do I need Cingular to do something? Are the 5190s even compatible with anyting newer?

Thanks very much for any help.

6630

This is an upcoming model for Asia, don't know if they will come out with it in the states or not. Check out Nokia's global site. Very nice. 1.3 megapixel, EDGE, and can record one hour of video! Who knows when they will come out with the 6230 or the 7610 in the states or not, but the 6630 seems to be a combination of them both.

Change speed dial "1" - voice mail number

Is there anyway to change the speed dial number assigned to "1" - the voice mail number? I have changed my network provider and the number to access my voice mail is different. I would like to be able to assign it to speed dial "1", but I can't work out how to do it! I have a nokia 6230.

Challenge with Nokia 6820 Bluetooth Connectivity

😕
I just got a new Nokia 6820, and purchased a USB Bluetooth Device for my desktop PC.
I rushed home, connected everything & loaded all the software.
(i.e. PC Suite and the Bluetooth Drivers)
I managed to pair the 2 devices (Phone to COmputer) but am not able to synchronise with my contacts or calendar.
If anyone can shed some light on my challenge, please HELP!
The sooner the better!
Thanks!

My NOKIA 6100 "died"...

My NOKIA 6100 "died" last night. 😢

I used Oxygen Phone Manager to upload stuff to my phone and last night while I was doing it (in fact when I tried to update the changes) obviously the battery got too low and the transfer didn't succeed. The phone shut down and now I can't switch it on - it flashes a couple of times and goes out. I'm really afraid, because I bought it yesterday and I have no warranty for it. Can I reset it or something? I think the problem isn't serious.

Thanks in advance.

More ? about 3650

I'm able to leave Verizon in about a month and am leaning strongly to T-Mobile and a Nokia 3650, but had some questions...

1. Right now I have a Palm-based Kyocera and love the wide range of applications and ability to view actual web pages (not simply XHTML or WML-supported pages.

It appears that there is not nearly the wide range of software available for the 3650, but I won't mind that if I am still able to access real web pages via the phone -- I can just write some simple database apps and stick them on a web page to handle most of the Palm apps I'd miss -- so, can I access standard, simple .htm pages (via a text-only browser or something similar) using the 3650 or some 3rd party browser?

2. A strong selling point of the 3650 ...
