Nokia 6230 and Ipaq 3835 connectivity

Just upgraded phones to a Nokia 6230 thru Cingular with bluetooth and infrared. The old Ipaq 3835 has served me well but I have nothing on it other than what came from the factory (no expansion sleeves, etc.). I previously had a Motorola V60i and used a cable (from Gomadic) to connect the Ipaq to the cell phone.

With the new phone, I thought it would be easier that this to connect via infrared (sending files, etc. works fine). When trying to establish a connection, the 6230 display reads "Connecting to GPRS" and then "Subscribe to GPRS first" before it disconnects. I assume this means there is another subcription level I have to pay for. If so, I might as well invest in the bluetooth card for the Ipaq so I won't have to maintain 'line ...

It sounds like you may not have the feature on your account. The internet express feature is a totally different feature than the data connect wireless internet feature. i learned that one the hard way. 😳

I have the same problem..but a i just called my cellphone co. Cable & Wireless and they dont have any different data GPRS PLAN....I have a plan for 512 kb....for 3.95/mth...others are for 1 mb and 2 mb...thats it...i dont know if this guy dont know anything about it...are u pretty sure about these different data plan and normal gprs service??
