...to pronounce "Katana"?

Seriously, today alone I've heard it pronounced as "Can-tanner" and "Catalina".

Discuss and post other hilarious mispronunciations of things related to the cellular phone industry.

Wheat Allergy... Probably Celiac. I refuse to get tested, but all symptoms go away when I don't eat wheat. IBS is a symptom of untreated celiac.

ah..... I see. I have been avoiding the Lounge lately, too much negative emotions, put me in a bad mood all day. Usually I can spot 'em when they intro themselves (and I think I saw his standard intro in the phonescoop forum) but I haven't really watched to see if he's being nasty again.

I will usually give someone a second chance if they will behave(bennieboy-xyzpdq). But he's had how many re-incarnations? And hasn't figured out a standard of behaviour? Can't be too bright.

Not really a mispronunciation... but...

For the record... when referring to a headset, BLUETOOTH MAY NOT BE USED AS A NOUN.

No, you don't want to buy a bluetooth. You want a Bluetooth(adj) Headset(noun).

See how bluetooth describes the technology used in the headset? You're still buying a headset, it's NOT a bluetooth.

I want to kick every customer in the face that says "I want a bluetooth"

What are the rules for using it as a verb?

I hate tweeny boppers who try to tell me their phone is defective because they can't bluetooth ringtones. We need to call it OBEX, if the phone don't OBEX, then all the bluetooth in the world won't help you get free ringtones.

Noun definitely doesn't work. I tend to stand there and wait for them to finish the sentence. When they don't I ask if they want a Bluetooth Phone, USB dongle, speaker phone, stereo headset, or ear piece.

Sometimes they get it, but usually it just confuses them more which is equally as fun for me.

Bluetooth as a verb MIGHT work, but you're not really bluetoothing (?) something to someone, your sending something via bluetooth... where bluetooth describes how you are transferring it (adverb).

Still, I'll allow it. Calling a headset a bluetooth is still grounds for foot-to-face contact.
...

Sep 15, 2007, 10:37 AM
Sending something via bluetooth... that phrase uses the word as a noun, unless the word technology is implied. If you put "the" in front of bluetooth, the sentence still means the same.

2 things you should know before hand.
1)In Sprint Retail we don't handle cancellations.
2)It was my last day @ that store yesterday.

A couple comes in (mom & son, lovers, brother/sister, or just friends, I have no clue) and they immediately start giving me attitude. Yelling at me because the cancellation department has made the smae mistake 2 or 3 times, and not cancelled his service. So he's getting billed for his normal monthly charge. I tell them, "I'm truly sorry to hear that, but we don't handle any cancellations problems in store. Our systems don't access that part of our company database. What I can do is give you a direct number to the cancellations department. I wish there was more I could do but unfortunately there isn't." Th...
