New phone new carrier!! HELP!!!!!

So in two weeks my contract is up with Tmobile. I didn't really like the coverage very much. My device is crap too. I had the G2 which was a pretty good phone until it ended up in a cup of water. They sent me a myTouch slide, AND I HATE IT!!! I used to have at&t for like 8 years and really liked it but it was a little pricey. Before that I had sprint back in the roaming days and it did all the time. I was thinking about switching to verizon and getting and Iphone, but the salesperson at Verizon was telling me about the GalaxyIII so now I'm torn.. Any feedback would be great. I don't use my phone for work or load movies , pretty much just the basics, text, calls, internet ya know..
