Best Signal Phone for Verizon?
I've been looking for any general research or lists of CURRENT Fall 2009 phones that are superior in signal strength. My mom's phone is due to upgrade next month and I'm looking to find a phone for her that would be good. She texts, pix & flix. She has plenty of signal at her home to do those things with ease. But to actually carry a conversation can be difficult. She usually has about 2 or 3 bars, and it cuts in and out.
Can anyone give me some suggestions on phones that might have a stronger singal in the newer phones? I was looking at the Samsung u810 Renown. I thought maybe with the cdma and the gsm option it might work better? Thank you so much for any help!!!

if she has two or three bars while at home it's very unlikely that it is a reception issue..more like a phone that needs to be replaced issue. I suggest the LG 8350 for your mom..it has strong reception, good voice clarity etc.

And the hinge will break every 30 days......get the 8360 instead..

the 8350 isn't even an option anymore anyway... But yea... I had a friend that made the upgrade the expensive way from 8350 to 8360....... I still have a month too.... So who knows what new phone vzw phone will show up.... Thank you!!!

The 8360, (If she texts the EnV line), are both good choices.
Mid-High range LG phones seem to be the best all around. Motorola's get decent Signal (sometimes better than LG) but their battery/build quality can be lacking.
Samsung is hit or miss with phones. I don't know about the Renown, so I would read up on it. The GSM radio's won't help connection though. It only works off of CDMA here in the states, and as stated, if the phone has 2-3 bars it's a phone problem, not a signal issue.

I'm not a total fan of LG. For reception, call quality, I'd pick a Motorola over LG anyday. But that's just my 2 cents. They do have their issues though, but I'd still rather have one than an LG.
