Had to restrain myself the other day

I was in my local VZW corporate store the other day with my parents and sister upgrading our family plan (I'm the primary line). There was another customer there that was having problems with a Treo (not sure which model). From what I gathered, he wanted the rep (his tag said "Manager" on it) to not only replace his Treo with another but he also wanted a different device (there was a Blackberry box on the counter) as he was not satisfied with the quality of the Treo. The rep, correctly IMO, told him that he just couldn't do that. The guy was trying to bitch enough to get what he wanted but the rep stood firm and would not let him out of the store with more than one device.

Are you in the industry? Or are you just a customer? If you're just a customer you just gave me hope for customers who understand why it is we can't do what everyone wants. Kudos!

Amen, the sense of entitlement that customers seem to believe is afforded to them is sickening. They lose sight of the idea that there is still a business to run.

I love it when customers threaten me with going to another carrier if they don't get their way. I love that, two things happen: I explain I don't take it personally and I offer directions to the nearest competitor. Calling the bluff is so much fun.

Those people don't realize that when a company loses money that's less money distributed to employees. I don't want him taking money out of my pocket.
