Supposedly, they cripple it to make the network "secure". I can understand why they do it to the "non-pda" phones, but for those of us that have the non-pda phones, which are not V-cast capatible, it makes no damn sense to lock the bluetooth.

how does stopping me from transferring photos from my cell to my computer make the network more secure? Am I missing something?

wasn't really directed to you. Just a question. I think they don't know either. The only people that know for sure are the ones that did it.

yeah that is what they use to tell me, I wish they would have just said, its because of loss of revenue. At least I would have been more inclined to deal with them, since I would have the crappy truth than a sugar coated lie.

It doesn't make any sense to me either. That always would piss me off.

Its like how cingular disabled mp3 larger than 300 kbs and longer than 30 seconds to be assigned on the sony ericsson w810. I was told it was becasue of file sharing, BUT the ability to send files via Bluetooth was ok.

I was very confused on that one...

It goes to show you, every company does something for one reason or another. Does it make sense?
No, not at all.

this may be false, but i heard it was to prevent users from sending music files and such to each other. In turn, that prevents ringtones and stuff from being shared and equals more money for verizon.
