Verizon UI?

Can someone please explain to me what the big deal is with Verizon's UI is?
I read the defintion about UI, I have a Moto e815 which works great ALL the time. Please explain to me what an UI is, and how it would effect me using my phone.
I have been with Verizon three years, I had LG VX-6000 phone which never failed me. I decided to get the Moto E815, which I love and have no desire to change to anything new out there.
As for Verizon network and and customer service I think they are the best. I had Cingular pre-paid (I'm glad I never signed a contract with them) and I had T-Mobile prepaid (their customer service was very good, but their coverage was lacking).
Does Verizon have any phones out there that can do everything my Mo...

UI means User Interface.
A User interface is essentially the software on the phone that allows you to interact with the phone (think windows on a computer, windows allows you to interact with the computer. Windows is also a GUI or a Graphical User Interface.)

The complaint that is often posted is because verizon is the only carrier that has their own user interface that is standard across all their phones. No other cell phone company (well, I say that not knowing internationally if any other cell phone companies do or not) have a standard UI like that. Many people say that verizons is slow (it is slower then some and faster then some, take what you want I suppose) Some people just say its ugly. (I don't much care for the red 😛)

The Moto E815 has Motorola UI. If you go loook at the razr you will see the Verizon UI. I personally like Moto UI a lot more than Verizon UI.

I hate the verizon UI you cant do crap with it cuz verizon controls it and leaves out all the cool stuff manufactures want you to have. I have the 8300 and its a joke only four shortcut keys and no options...its boring and would never be exciting to buy a new phone. Now my Sanyo 7500 WOW now this is an amazing phone that you can customize to the max and tinker with just the way you want it, i like to geek out on stuff and the verizon ui puts me to sleep zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Well, I've had VZW Tech Reps tell me VZW purposfully makes their phones stupid. That's why they chose what I will call such a lame UI.

You are right, there is no way you can customize any of the VZW UI phones. Not to mention it allows them to rip out nice features like the ability to download files without having to pay them to do it. (Wasted 2 bucks on a music download site to figure that out on the 700W) And don't get me started on the bluetooth thing, or the lack of Wi-Fi on a good portion of their PDA phones. (They have what, 2-3 models with Wi-fi now??)

It would only help them to use the International Standards on their phones, (AKA The manufacturer UI) using this new Brew UI in my eyes was a stupid decision. (That and noon...

Sanyo...comes with the great sprint service. I see how many postpaid consumers love their sprint service. What were they last quarter again? How many postpaid net ads did they have? Just curious.

UI simply means User Interface. It's the menu system and related icons on your phone. A phone from a manufacturer such as Motorola, Samsung or LG might be produced with one menu set and way of navigating those menus. When a carrier such as Verizon decides to market that phone in their line-up, they often times will change the menu set to include many network-specific items like Verizons "Get it Now" and "V-Cast".
As far as how your phone may be different from the current models, I'm sure there are others on here who can give you a better answer than I can.

yeah the e815 has the motorola interface that all other carriers still use on their moto models. the moto UI is one of the best UI's and you can personalize it like crazy. The VZW UI SUCKS. I hope you like red bars with faded blue, faded orange, and faded green (all of which they sat out in the sun too long and faded). I hope you like graphics that a G*d damn 2nd grader created.

THE UI SUCKS

Even LG's and Samsung's UI's are great. Nokia's too. If you want manufaturer UI's go to Cingular or Sprint.

It is funny that I have had maybe a handfull of customers say something about this issue. The only place I see that it has been an issue is on here. Makes one wonder if it isn't the same people creating more then one account and posting the same crap. But...that makes me wonder what kind of life they really have...

It's the more tech savvy or phone obsessed people who are concerned about the UI. The average consumer has no idea, in fact the average sales rep doesn't even know that some people don't like the UI. It's really not that bad, especially on newer phones like the EnV.
