Greetings,
I'm going to be upgrading my service plan and getting a new phone as soon as I reach the end of my current billing cycle (about two weeks.) I stopped by a local VZW store today just to see what they had available and talked to the sales guy there. I'm eligible for a NE2 upgrade and I've already fulfilled the current obligations of my contract and am going month-to month now.

When I went into the store I was looking primarily at three phones. The Nokia 6587i, The LG VX 32600 and The Motorola v60s. I've done some research and I know that I want a fairly basic tri-mode phone that has excellent reception, is sturdy enough to last me two years of everyday use, and is economical. Each phone has it's pros and cons. I have no use ...

I work B2B for VZW, and I sell the hell out of that phone. I use one myself. The extended battery is awesome, the speakerphone is the best I've ever heard. The predictive text input is quite good, also. The only quibble I have is with the charging port - it's been a weak spot with Moto for a long time now, and 9 times out of 10, if there's a problem with one, that's what it will be.

I think the Nokia 3589i is a fine phone as well. The only one I've ever seen come back was as the result of a customer defect, not a phone problem. Its RF profile is excellent, and it's a sturdy phone, very hard to break.

The LGs are OK, but not my first choice. The higher end phones, like the 45/4600, the 6000 & the 7000 are better, IMO, than the 31/3200.

The moto is a fine phone, I also recommend the LG 4500 0r 4600. Also, I recommend phone insurance.

In the west(Wyoming--->west) the moto costs $69.99 for a 2 year contract and if you have the ne2 then it's free. The LG 4500 is also free; acutally you pay $50 and get a $50 mail in rebate. The 4600 can only be redeemed online(ne2 cant be redeemed there).

If you don't beleive the prices. Go to our website and check the prices out. With the ne2 you get up to $100 off the 2 year contract price; yes, you need to sign up for another 2 years if you want to redeem the ne2

That's right, I had a brainfart. You DO have to sign a new 2 yr contract, the rep you talked to must have misspoken, it happens sometimes. We're human. You COULD do a 1-year, but would not be eligible for the $100 NE2 bonus, and the phone price would be a good bit higher.

How's the coverage in Wyoming? I looked at the coverage locator, the digital service looks kind of spotty, but then again, I don't really know where the population centers are in Wyoming. I guess cattle don't use cell phones.
