Music Essentials

I have been trying to get music onto the Razor using the music essentials kit. However about half of the music will not play. It will show the file but it will not play. I have deleted and reloaded but it did not fix it. I have spent countless hours with tech support and they are at a loss as well. Can anyone help me understand how to fix this. Thank you in advanced.

Perhaps you need a new phone. It could be that your phone is defective, or your Music Essentials Kit is defective.

What format are the songs in that you are trying to put on your Razr? The Razr will only playback songs that are in the Windows Media Player 10 format, and will not playback music from the iTunes format.

The songs are all in MP3 format! Some play and some dont. The tech said that the kit is supposed to convert them to WMA, when it is syncing I do see it say converting so I am assuming it is doing that. This is the 2nd phone and the 2nd Music essentials kit and the same problem.

Not calling you a lier but I doubt you have spent "countless hours" on the phone with data support trying to get this fixed. One of three things you are running into with this. Two of them are common problems with the Razr and the third is the most common problem, user error (sorry, had to toss that one in there!)

From what I'm reading its the third one. You can not transfer .mp3, it MUST get added to your wm10 library, converted, and sync'd from there. If you sent it through, drag/drop, etc and its still .mp3 it will not play!

After doing the below, and you still have the same issue post what is happening and I will answer that too...

- Place all/any songs you have on the pc that you want to trans to the phone into the wm10 library...

Thank you for not calling me a liar. However I have spent many hours on the phone with them and I do believe that i stated that I am using the sync kit and watch it convert the file. in other words I am doing the exact thing that you listed to do.I also explained exactly what is happening! The file is showing when I go into my songs but there is no sound and no time counter or progress on the bar. So you told me there are 3 things however you only talked about 1 of them. You say there are 2 issues with the razor, what exactly are the other two issues?

actually you said... "The songs are all in MP3 format!" Which is the problem, they can NOT be in mp3! They must be .wma! Where are the songs coming from? You getting them through vcast music, ripping them from a CD (and using mw10!), or are you getting them from another online source with license driven usage?

open the player, tools > options > rip music tab > and none of the three boxes under "windows media audio" (there are different ones, make sure you have just the wma in the box)

anf the reason I didnt touch on the other two is b/c nothing you said matches them.

I doubt this one will change what is going b/c what you saying the problem is a foramt issue, not a trans issue, but for the hell of it click on this
