Normally I am not gullible and truthfully I really believe somewhere something like that could have happenned.
I wasn't kidding about the couch/couches. That really did happen. People still scratch their heads about that one. The campus center building is in the middle of campus and it is locked at night (or is supposed to be) and somehow a couple of new couches were there one day and gone the next.

Campus police. Either that or a cleaning crew. Our local university had a bit of a run a few years back where the campus police were augmenting their tiny salaries by breaking into cars left overnight in the university pay lots & then stealing whatever they could carry.
Went on for quite a while before somebody tumbled to what was going on.
