Who Makes Verizons Phones?
A little history,,,,
I travel to work through the country & it has many fringe areas...
I loved my 815 but it just wouldn't pick up in those areas whereas my old Nokia before had no problems, I guess because it's a Tri-mode.
So I'm going back with a Tri-mode.....
As of now I'm thinking of the V325, the reviews are been great on it.....
Reception wise only, what's the best out there?
The all digitals may work good for you city folk but they just don't cut it for us country hicks.
I think audiovox makes the verizon phone. Not 100% sure though.

since you are going tri-mode, your choices are pretty limited.

This'll be your last tri mode phone anyway, as of February 18th 2008 analog DIES.
Well if it does I sure hope they beef up the digital output or whatever it is that makes a Tri-mode better in fringe areas.
I work 2nd shift & drive home every night at 10pm & a phone is important to me in case of a break down or wreck.(plenty of deer to hit that time of night here in Illinois)
A phone with no reception won't do me much good, but hey I can still take a picture as I'm walking home.....lol

Why do people seem to think a tri-mode phone boosts your digital signal? It doesn't have anything to do with it. All tri-mode does is allow you to also have analog. Do you really see your phone in analog that much? I couldn't tell you the last time I saw a phone work in analog.
All I know is they work better, I don't know why, they just do.
I've saw many posts here of people living around fringe areas & most all of them say the same thing just as Heathers reply below....
When I called Verizon complaining about my E815s reception where my old Nokia worked fine, they said "That's because your old phone was Tri-mode."
I don't look to see what mode it's in as I'm going through these a...

But..... That don't help me on my drive to work...
I just got a used Audiovox 9900 to get me through until I can get new phones from Verizon next month, it's a Tri-mode & on my way to work yesterday I was able to talk right through the area I was never able to get a signal from with my 815.
I envy the people who can get by with all digital but it just don't work for all folks.

digital works better at my house, i would rather have 0-2 bars digital any day over 3-4 bars ananalog. Analog drops calls, it is staticy, half the time your calls don't come i and your battery drains 12x faster...screw anaalog. When I had a tri mode it kept going into ananlog and screwing up my world, i was hesitant to go all digital but i did about 4 years ago and i am never going back.
I will have to disagree with you, I work at VZW as well as had service prior.. It depends here you live, my tri-mode never goes to analog unless I travel in a rural area, then I am D.... glad for whatever service I pick up.. so that is JMO , works for me when necessary..

I don't look to see what mode it's in as I'm going through these areas because I'm driving so I couldn't tell you if it was in analog or not, what I can tell you, it worked.
How do you know that it has poor service if you don't look at your phone when you are driving?
I really don't have to look at the phone to know that.

I agree, a Trimode phone makes no difference in a digital area. You might as well have an all digitial phone if you are only in Digital areas. The analog portion of a trimode phone is specifically for analog areas and is useless in digital areas as stated above be vzwinagent.

Maybe cause you don't leave your "home"... Trust me for some, it works better, yes it will be going away but until it does , it works great in some places in the USA.
Don't know some folks in this thread treat me like I'm lying.
And I did pay attention this past Friday on my way to work & in the troublesome spots the big A poped up for analog.
Digital has also came a long way, and I believe Verizon will replace their analog with digital. They are not going to let anyone hanging.
I'll be replacing my wife & daughters phones at the same time, so if it's a push between the two phones & may get some of both because right now Verizon is offering free 325s with the purchase of a 5300... Hopefully this same promotion will be going on Nov. 17th when I'm eligible again!
And it'd be nice not to have 3 of the same phones laying around to avoid confusion.
Thanks!
Where are you getting your information? 50 miles from a in-line booster? Not possible. The 5300 is infact vz nav capable. Please get your facts right before posting information that has a potential impact on a future customer.
Heather said:
I got my information on the 5300 from two customer service reps, my sales trainer, and my DM. And the boosters, through Wilson say right on the box "increases your phones coverage up to 50 miles or more." And based of customer satisfaction on the booster and what the box says I have to believe they boost up to 50 miles. I am talking a 3 watt booster.
Thanks!
I'll have to remember this when they cut off analog all together & if the service is no better for digital in the areas I'm having problems in.
But they are kinda pricie....
Found it here....(is this the best price?)

Hey Scott,
I work at VZW as well as have the Motorola V325. If you are more concerned with calls, it is great especially based on the type of job you have.. Tech dept at VZW recommends it for signal/reception, etc.. It is a "middle of the r
