VZW Class Action Settlement
Saw where you could get 25 percent off a phone, but up to $15 only. What was the text deal? I'll read it over in its entirity tonight.
Basically, in the settlement packet you received two pieces of paper, each with multiple offers. You are allowed to redeem ONE (1) offer from each of the two pieces of paper.
You cannot redeem all options and you cannot redeem more than one from each page. To get more information on the settlement background and terms, you can go to http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/footer/leg alNotices/campbell/index.jsp
If you had purchased a V710, you could have gotten a full refund on your phone and a new one. 660,000 persons were in that Class. I got a check for $319 and bought a new RAZR for $99.
The deadlines have long expited, though.
The new lawsuit is against Bluetooth SIG and Verizon for crippling OEM phones and still passing them through retail channels with the BT logo and qualifications.

is VZW still crippling thier phones?
Let's just say they are removing features that the OEM puts on. Like you can't pair with your Outlook, many cars or GPS devices.
Seems like anything that involves a file transfer is blocked, except on some PDA's.
This is getting to be a very old topic. Basic advice seems to be if you want to integrate your phone with other BT devices, try to stay away from Verizon if you can get decent reception.
2) The legal profession is the biggest scam in the world. They will make millions and you will get nothing.
3) I don't know what this class action is about, I didn't get letter yet. EVERY class action suit against a very large corporatrion is a LAWYER SCAM!!!! Even it if it is justified, the plaintiffs lawyers get hundreds of millions of dollars in legal fees, and the plaintiffs each get a coupon for $15.00 off a $50.00 headset they could buy on EBAY for $15.00 in the first place.
4)The 100's of million dollars the lawyers get increases your monthly bill substantially. Trial Layers get rich! Consumer gets screwed...

I agree, but isn't it cheaper for the carriers to simply leave the OEM features on the phones to begin with?
How much money could they be losing fighting the new technology? Interoperability between personal devices isn't going to go away, just because a few strong carriers don't like it.
