I know we're only like 6 days into the month, but is it SERIOUSLY SUCKING for anybody else or is it just my area? We're doing HALF of what we usually do so far...

Sucks here too, last month was awful as well, previous 6-8 months were really good but lately it has been dead.

You just wait until the 8600 and 9900 come out...you wont be complaining about how slow it is then.

Yeah we will be having tons of 14 year old kids coming in with their parents wanting to upgrade from their razrs that they just bought 6 months ago. Then they will get pissed when we tell them they have to pay full price for them.

Maybe people are finally sick and tired of the hideous UI. Verizon has taken all the fun out of getting new phones. And don't even mention the "new" UI, cause that is a bunch of crap too. If Cingular ever gets their act together, I will drop Verizon in a heartbeat.

Well I used to have At&t, then when Cingular took over it all went to crap. On an average I was getting 8 dropped calls during one 10 minute conversation. The biggest thing that made me pay the early termination fee and cancel with them was the fact that when people left me voicemails, I would get them 3-4 days later, so that got REALLY annoying. It's a shame because I loved switching phones as often as I switched socks, and I'm sure you've heard the nightmares about their CS, well let me tell you, it's true....I am not bashing them, because I am pissed at Verizon too, but I am just stating what happened to me.

yea i heard the dreaded costumer service stories. What makes me turn me on to cingular is the fact that they dont charge airtime right when your phone rings... you wouldnt beleive how many minutes go to waste when i miss calls! but what turns me off of cingular are those dropped calls left and right. Also i cant stand the "underwater gargeling" sound that happens at least once in ever phone call.... sigh

I agree with depechemode82, I used to be with AT&T until they merged with Cingular and then all the problems started. I was able to move to Verizon because of the discount I get at work but now the Verizon UI is making think about going back to Cingular. Is there a way to complaint to Verizon and their crappy UI or sign a petition?

Verizon, my carrier is the best for me but as I hit NE2 I found that the store people are very interested into any young person (17-22)coming into the store. Does Verizon train so that the sales people only give so much time to a customer? Then my sales person - training another was disciplined by her manager for leaving the keyboard unlocked. That's really tacky.

I found that the store people cannot answer questions re data plans. They just want to sell air cards and the $60.00/mo. plan.

Soo.. I got tired and called *611 and got a sales person who said I don't want to talk to you if you are going to go into the store to buy. I assured him that this was not going to happen. Then he told me the same thing that the store did. Data plans...

What does this have to do with the original post?

you can tether an evdo phone, it costs $60 bucks, the same price as the aircard. Advantage is that you are only agreeing to a feature not a whole new contract so you can drop it off your phone anytime, bad part is that your phone is going to be tied up if you are using it for data all the time. So I guess there really isn't much to teach a salesperson in regards to this, but come in my store i will explain it, we get a nice comission for selling high tier data packages like unlimited tethered broadband. Not sure what your post had to do with the original one but if you have questions ask them in here, the difference between us and a lot of store personel is we are making a career in this industry and to many salespeople and customer care rep...

Plus it's a little rude to call a sales person, who gets monitered on how many people they can sell when people call in and go, "Oh, I'm in the store, I just had a few questions..."

it's been slow for us too, even though it's a new location and this is our fifth month. And September was the worst since we opened. I did much better on the first month we opened than in september.

Friday wasn't a good day for me, but the previous days were.

I've been hearing that this month is going to be slow all around, though.

we posted a phenominal August. I did over 300 numbers in August. In September the numbers were back down to the low 200's. The month started slow...but yesterday we did 20 numbers and today I did 18. First part of the week sucked.

Stand alone building. When I started there 3 1/2 years ago they were hitting about 80 numbers a month. I included prepay and upgrades in those numbers.

One major reason is that a lot of people are waiting for the new ETF policy to go into effect. Few customers read these boards, but most read or see the local news, and the new policy was reported widely, but is not yet in effect. People are holding off signing new contracts waiting. Its called "blocking your own market" in marketing terms. A dumb move by VZ to announce the new policy for advertising purposes, but delay putting it into effect.

They announced it in an online posting. They have not advertised it at all. I have not had ONE customer asking about this change. So I don't think it has anything to do with that. mid September through November are traditionally slow months in cellular. People waiting until Holidays to buy.
