How does Alltel differ from VZW??
Alltel's coverage actually looks better. Both use CDMA but the best part is Alltel doesn't infringe on your rights by destroying your phones UI and crippling bluetooth.
Any thoughts?
Thx.

im not defending verizon's company policies nor do i agree with them but a corporation has the right to do whatever w/ their products or modify them in anyway before the customer buys them, and its not infringing on the customer rights because the person signs a contract and agrees to the terms.

they are a regional carrier, most of their map is roaming agreements which is fine for many. Call clarity will be about the same but connection and coverage in actual alltel area will not be on par with verizon. It has been awhile since i have lived in an alltel area, but when i did i received a lot of dropped call complaints. You can essentially get alltel and roam off of verizon while you travel for free, you just have to live with the headache of being in extended area most of the time which limits features, and who do you think gets prefrence when you are roaming in extendd network on verizon, you as an alltel customer or verizon's own customers. I guess it falls down to what you want. Sine they are regional they offer some strong plans,...

besides service being better for vzw over alltel. The ui most people like it being the same on the phone so not destroying it. Its actually what most customers want. Bluetooth just company wanted to just support earpiece and some cars with bluetooth. Every company is out to make money so the company wanted pix to be sent out using the pix message service. Oh and most importantly our customer service/sales reps are SEXIER than alltels. 😁

Alltel claims that its network is the largest. It is an odd claim where the say this but it is the largest network geographically and not in terms of the most towers or most tower locations. Not sure how they can even claim as such in square miles but have a tower 'here and there' is not the same as having a reliable network.
Even in the most recent Alltel ad with the four national carrier 'sales people', Alltel has the Verizon guy saying that Alltel uses the Verizon network in a backhanded manner "..this might be costly since they're on my network".
Alltel is an odd duck. They're trying to be bigger than they are and making stiff claims that are reasonably easy to combat.

Alltell = trash stick to VZW
And I actually think that the UI that verizon has implemented onto all their phones is very good. I know some people want change and want to feel different or special, but when it comes down to it ease of change is what Verizon wants. They dont want people to be discouraged to upgrade to a new phone because of a change of user interface. This also doesnt let people make the decision to buy a cheaper phone because it has a better user interface, thus helping them sell more high end phones. Though, you could also look at that inverseley as well.
I like verizons interface much better than the crappy motorola onces, as seen on the v710.
