There is something up with the network in ohio, all you get is a ton of static and crackling in your ear when you call anyone other than a verizon cell phone? Customer service told me they are working on the issue and it was affecting all of ohio! Just wondering if anyone in here knows whats going on?

just a system problem...doesn't happen often but with all cell companies it's not 100% unavoidable

I know this thread is several years old, but I am having that problem at night pretty often with my phone.

It usually only will do it once at night, and if I hang up and call the person right back it's fine. Although sometimes it will do it twice in a night.

Is anyone else had these problems lately? I'm new to Verizon, and love them so far. This is annoying however.

I was able to use Voice Record on my U740 while in a call to capture the static noise. I'm going to take it by Verizon next week, or tomorrow, and see what they think it might be.

don't waste your time...no one at a store will know...not because they don't care, it's just not in their field of work...they're sales people, not system techs...

Well I should say I'm in Georgia. Only have this problem at night.

I bumped this thread because I found it when searching for the problem I was having. Which seems to be the same as this..
