Question for VZN sales/tech people
I own a Audiovox CDM 9900. I don't know if its either my phone or the network, but for a while now I have been getting little or no reception. I used to get excellent reception compared to when I had Nextel. People have told me to get a new phone, but others insist that its a network thing. I really dont want to get a new phone, mainly because I don't want to spend a lot of money for phone I don't like (not too impressed with Verizon's current lineup). Wondering if there are any suggestions. Thanks!

2 things. 1. *228, then select option 2 from the automated menu. 2. if that doesn't work, take your phone to a corp. store and have them take a look at the software. May need to be updated.

I do the *228 update monthly, but I will take it to the store for the software upgrade. Thanks!

Have another person that uses Verizon and see if they get service in an area where you dont.. If they do and you dont.. its clearly an equipment related issue. 9900 was a great phone.. but just like any other Audiovox.. the life of any Audiovox isn't going to give u more past year.. year and half.

Unfortunately I am the only person that I know of that has it in my area. I had friends that used VZN, but they moved away. Otherwise, the others in my area have Sprint/Nextel or Cingular. But like I said in my original post, I rather just keep my phone as long as I can until I find one that I do like.

Just a thought-
Someone else correct me if I'm wrong, but-
Do you have an old or other Verizon Cellphone that isn't activated? I'd dial *611, and that will probably get through to VZW cs. I've used an old phone to talk with tech support in the past instead of tieing up my land line.
