all you people who complain about cingular in the verizon forum and vice versa need to shut up...both companies do what most people want, provide PHONES WITH GOOD SERVICE...i have had both companies and they are excellent. they have good service everywhere...sure, verizon is better for rural and phones and other stuff is different but come on!!! most people who complain or bag on either company probably haven't had both!!! before you bag on the service find out what it is like and possibly test it...SO ALL YOU HATERS be quiet...both companies are excellent

I disagree, I have had Cingular and their network in Chicago doesn't compare to Verizon's. I know people that work at AT&T in Chicago that get their business line paid through Cingular yet have a Verizon Wireless or Nextel line as their personal!!! Every major network test or report has shown that Cingular ranks in the bottom here in Chicago, time to raise the bar here in Chicago for Cingular.

I work for Cingular and I live in Chicago. Next month network integration will be completed in Chicago. It has been a rough couple of years with the GSM conversion and now network integration.

Cingular is not bad in most areas but not here, it freakin blows. And yes I have tried used it and have known people to have it and also tried theirs.

I have had and sold Cingular and Verizon both, and here in Colorado Cingular sucks. Way more dropped calls than Verizon overall.

My dad lives out in the sticks and he has Cingular for some reason (it doesnt work at his house, neither does verizon really tho) anyways he was in town this past weekend and I used his phone to make some test calls when driving around I-270 in columbus ohio it was not very good to be honest. my Verizon phone had a much stronger signal strenth and the Cingular phone (sony ericsson z525) dropped two calls thruout the day. I never drop calls on my VZW vx-8300 when driving on the same routes. Call quality was pretty good on both phones tho.

I am going to have to completely agree. I drive 270 everyday and haven't had one problem in columbus. I have tried my buddies cing. phone and it was terrible. Plus if you didn't know they don't even cover licking county, which isn't really that far east of cbus.

iwas just out through columbus this weekend service is good out there. I go out to dayton every so often. I alway love the licking county. I always have to laugh. He he licking county think of the possibilities.... umm anyway. was playing with the navigator on my 9800 while also checking out the 8300 phone they both were good.

I agree that the SuperFan flame wars can get pretty annoying and serve no purpose. It's best just to ignore those types of threads. However, while both services may be relativly equal overall, one or the other, or one of the other major cariers, is usually the best option in a specific geographic area.

well i agree with you on that cell phones are still a fairly new type of technology especially when you compare them to cars and computer so it does still have flaws but yes it is getting better. but yeah everyone should have the right to have their take on which is better. But there are always more important things like which is the best beer. I am a fan of budweiser coors, coors light... actually i like almost every beer. 😎 save that argument 🤣
