I'm a gadget freak.
I own a cell phone. It makes calls everywhere I go. I use it for an alarm clock sometimes, but that's about it. I bought the data cable. I have a custom faceplate, a headset, a car and home charger.
I have a GameBoy Advance, a watch, a laptop, a desktop PC...
I'm getting an HP Palmtop just because they go for $50 on ebay...

I as well am a gadget freak. I own a Motorola v400...and Cingular got it right with this one in my opinion. Unlike a lot of you I use a lot of the gadgets on it...camera for quick snaps of my kids or a phone for a customer that can't come in, voice recorder for those reminders that are mission critical, mulitiple alarms... hell, I even monkey with the motomixer!
I think a person should be able to indulge themselves when it comes to phone features, and that carriers should allow them to do so. This whole "all you REALLY need is a reliable network" thing is insulting to people, if you think about it. If you want a camera, buy a camera? I have 3 kids, and they are forever doing something I'd like to capture. But by the time I got to my camer...

Sorry if I've offended with any of the "reliable phone" talk. Here in rural NC, more often than not a reliable phone and a cool phone are two separate entities. Cingular's coverage is fine here, but when you put the v400 or 600 on it out here in the boonies all ya get is crap. Now I may have had my hands on defects considering the high number of them in that line, but you can see where such an opinion would develop. It's just my experience that I can have my gadgets, but if I want to play with them they can't multitask, a camera has to be a camera, a gameboy's a gameboy, and a phone, if Iwant it to work, has tobe a phone.
