v710 is CDMA, Cingular is GSM. It's not a question of unlocking. It'd be like trying to us an FM only radio to pick up an AM signal. Imposible.
...
The Verizon V710 is GSM Capable. It operates in CDMA but also has GSM capability.
...
the v710 is not gsm capable.only cdma.cdma and gsm are different technologys.so the person who says the v710 is gsm capable doesnt know what they are talking about.

I am that person. My bad, I thought mine said GSM but it actually said GPS. You are right, I don't know what I am talking about. In my defense, I will say that I am not alone in this forum. Not saying anything about you, who can correct somebody without being a #@^%(*&^. But I have read some really lame s&^% on this Forum. I cant belive how uptight and incorrect some of these people are. Glad someone is willing to deal with all the misinformation being posted on this site. Thanks for the correction.

The GSM equivalant (or better) to the v710 would be the MPx220. It's also quad band so works more less around the whole world.
...
Only (regrettably 🤣 ) with Cingular Wireless.
...
That is not going to work. The v710 is CDMA and Cingular is GSM its Apples and Oranges.
...
Rami,
Apples to Oranges man. I hate to say it, the v710 does look great on paper, and it'd be great to get things like rollover on it. But Cingular's system is GSM, the v710 is CDMA only. Just curious though....where do you live? Don't hear of too many folks with the name Rami.
