I am a tech for verizon, nothing works for that damn razr, i swear to god it's the worst phone ever made, well for verizon it is
...
In what ways? Mine seems to work fine. I had ver .02, flashed to .04 and the issues previously were fixed, except for the outer LCD image...gag. I will admit if I bought the phone 6 months ago I likely wouldn't have kept it.
The only other complaint I have now is the phone likes to hang on to VZW towers with a very weak signal (no bars) before switching to Extended Network towers with a strong signal, causing the call not to go through.
Tomorrow I'm bringing two different phones to the spot where it happens frequently.
...
Actually, I disagree I think the razr is a great ph. AWESOME call clarity and reception. Sure the ui is a little slow but I have seen no major problems with the razrv3c
...
Verizon's Razr definitely does suck. Signal strength is nowhere near that of my E815, sound quality blows, lots of issues when using a bluetooth headset, and not to mention the fact that you need to carry a charger with you wherever you go, because the battery is so terrible. Not blaming Motorola, because the GSM Razr is sweet, it's all thanks to stupid Verizon's great ideas of crippling everything. Oh well, gonna post my Razr on Ebay and go back to my E815...i'm done looking at the red bars! đŋ
...
You do realize that the recall that just happened on Razrs was for Gsm razrs that you think are so sweet đ If you don't like the Vzw razr b/c of the ui or locked bt that is one thing but to say reception and call clarity suck you are sadly mistaken imo
...
How can I be sadly mistaken, when I have tried about 6 different phones with Verizon, and compared to the E815, Razr's call quality is a joke. This isn't my opinion, it's a fact. The E815 blows it out of the water in every aspect except for size.
...
How is this a fact show research. It is truly your opinion
...
Yes, you're right. I will make it my goal in life to provide you with research. I won't rest until I've proven you wrong...oh wait, I have a life...enjoy your red bars, over-simplified menus (which I'm sure you find helpful), and your impressive 2 hours of talk time (because that is about what you get, not even a full three hours). đ¤Ŗ
...
First I use a Treo 700 but I have a razr on my account and have used a razr! (that's how much I find simple ui's helpful)
Second Red bars so what!
3rd The razr v3c actually provides 3 1/2 hrs tt and 9 days standby. Please when you want to try to personally attack someone at least do it intelligently!
Once again your opinion about the razr differs from mine!
...
The Razr is not a bad phone at all. I have an E815 and just renewed my contract and decided to try out the V3c. I take my E815 with me on the road and in the office to compare signal strength, and they are both very similar. Call clarity is the same as the E815 so far and I've had no problems with the speakerphone, the other end said I sounded fine. My only gripe is the battery life, but if I keep the phone I will buy the larger battery, problem solved.
...
Really? The Razr is a complete piece of crap. Here is a fact for you...Out of 20 sold from my store, 12 came back defective. You must be lucky or something.
...
Maybe I did get lucky who knows. I am interested in this new Samsung A930 though, I called my local VZW store and the sales person never heard of it. Hopefully it will get into stores before my 15 days is up (next Sunday).
...
I've probably sold close to that number at my store now and haven't heard a single complaint on ANY of them!

Correction. Every aspect INCLUDING the size. I love something I can hang onto ( insert joke here ). Tried the RAZR and it's too thin for me.

You do realize that the recall we had on GSM RAZRs was only a batch of them (not ALL gsm razrs were affected) Couple thousands -maybe- Oh, and this was back in Feb. The GSM RAZRs last longer (battery) Why? because GSM phones don't use as much power as CDMA phones do. GSM phones don't get hot neither.
There's more on this intersting topic in the cingy forum. đ
...
Yes, actually I was very aware of all this! however, the fact they were recalled at all says alot about the testing and trials they were put through prior to being released to the general public! Why? because cingy is in such a hurry to have "cool" not necessarily functional phones! Now anxiovert please return to the cingy fan club they need you!

đ¤Ŗ đ¤Ŗ I mean no harm! đ
Cingular is not to blame about the Razr issue. After all; we get the phones from Motorola. They sent us phone with glitches in the software and we failed to catch it earlier before it reach the user.
Now, this brings me to another Q. Do you think all carriers test their phones even after they are released? I know they test them BEFORE release... but do they continue to test them here and there? (like a few phone from each batch)
...
i would hope that carriers would continue doing tests, in order to help protect the consumer
...
i like your new avatar. not so corporate whorish.
...
I agree.
To answer the question in the subject...
BECAUSE IT IS A MOTOROLA!

I like my 815. I don't have any problems with them. Everyone seems to have problems with Motorolas except for me.
...
i never had any problems personally, but almost everyone i sell or have seen ends up with a software issue of some sort.
...
mine are always hardware, not really software.
i had one at first but on schedule 6 months later it stopped working well and i sent it out for repair, when it came back from the repair facility it had been worse, half the signal that i was complaining about and half the battery life. and about half of the motorolas i sell have hardware issues. ( a small fraction are actually software) but more motorolas have to be sent out for repair than every other phone manufacturer combined.
...
yeah, i remember the v265. that was a nightmare for hardware issues. the v276 was better, but not much. camera issues on both. the problem with the razr and most other motos i've had is taking forever to do what they should. my old moto would just randomly turn off too (old v551)
...
I love my pink razor, I absolutely HATE the red bars tho. they don't match anything, wish there was a way to get those mofos off!

these days that seems to be everyones capitol complaint.
NO MO BARS!!!!!!!!! đŋ
...
mo as in slang for 'more'?
or mo as in slang for 'homo'?
i understand either way.
...
i aint mean it that way.
...
lmao@homo
I used mofo because you can't exactly say "Motherf**ker" in the forums (lol) it was understood somehow.
Yeah I hate those red bars, is like verizon is trying to impose something that goes against your taste âšī¸ I am almost tempted to switch to the E815, but.. I already sent in my rebate forms for my razors so I can't return it now can I? I got the E815 for my mom and yeah the phone is bigger and heavier but it doesn't have none of the red bars all over the screen

Go to the Verizon store and get the .04 update!!!
...
i did, still blows đ
...
So which is it?...sucks or blows? đ
...
both but not in a feel good kinda of way đ˛
...
OK...so i guess it blows then... đ
...
Maybe you're having a bad day, VerizonSolectronTech. Most customers i talk to love their Razr handsets. I enjoy mine. Does it have problems? Of course, what carrier releases a handset that is perfect? I'm pretty sure there isn't one. đ
...
One word...MOTOROLA...they should make vaccuum cleaners...everything they make as far as phones are concerned sucks!
...
There's no answer in the realm of logic for this one. it just sucks. there are things that suck for no real reason. Kittie for example. They (were) good, somewhat talented but they're just no good. Pasta, sauce, italian sausage, and roccata (sp) are good, but why is it when I get spaghetti from Mario's (about two blocks away) it's ****ing putrid.
