the phone is very popular amongst kids that want a cell phone. especially with its "shrek" look. if the kids are asking for a cell phone, its a good choice to get for them. if you already have a family plan now, 10 bucks is a great sense of security. if you want to break it down, thats like 34 cents a day! the phone also has spearphone and comes with 3 different colors of keychains so the kids will be able to tell them apart. i would recomend it! it will make your kids happy that they have a cell phone and make you feel better that you can keep in contact with them at any time.

Gotta respect a phone that comes with stickers. Not just wristbands, but stickers.

I use a migo and the service is really bad. I said the hell with it when a rep at a store told me I couldn't upgrade to a vx9800 for free so I just went to Cingular.

Good age for 7 year old, the 11 year old might out grow it too soon. good phone and worth the money to protect you from having an outrageous bill, and it help teach them how cell phones work, great learning program. go for it

what area are you in we got the migo's free after rebate. for the 7 year old. But the 11 year old you might want to try the 2128 with a text block on the account. no texting, and the nokia 2128 you can lock the phone and phone book so they can only call certain people but a little more freedom than the migo. plus a few games.

I was at the store looking at the Migo. We have a 2128 already for inside the house so I know what to compare it to. It's actually a good basic phone; great reception and battery life.

To me the Migo seems like it's more durable than the 2128.

Call me a meanie, but I've just about had it with video games, TV and other mind wasting activities. To have a phone without games would be a plus 🤣 The same for text messaging!!

Anyway, thanks for your input.

The 11 year old is in what 5th grade? I also work in a middle school, and in my experience he's not going to want to carry the Migo. He'll be embarrassed by it. trust me, by 6th grade the kids are more tech savy and have nicer phones then I have ever had. Whats the point of buying it for him if He's embarrassed to carry it? Get him the 2128 or a similar phone and set some boundaries. He'll be a much happier, and a happy teeny bopper = easier home life.
