Does anyone or any Verizon Wireless employee know if Verizon plans on coming out the GPS Family locator capability such as what Sprint has done.

Yes, VZW will. It's coming sometime in the 2nd quarter. So any month now. Just looked over some training materials last week in fact. The vx 9800 and moto 265 just have turn by turn Gps navagator now, but other "local based servies", like family tracking and inventory/employee tracking are coming soon.

And other phones will follow to use these services, of course. Not as broad as Sprint's offering of LBS phones, but not bad.
