instant messaging and mobile web

Do I have to subscribe to mobile web (extra $5/month) in order to send/receive instant messages (msn)? I'm already paying $5/month for my text messaging plan. Thanks for your help.

No, you dont have to have the $5 mbl web package.
However, you can use the Mobile IM features through one of two ways, Get it Now or Mobile Web. If you use the free Get It Now feature then all the messages count as texts (not IN network), if you use the mobile web then they are all included since it works like a full application. I would highly recommend using the Mobile Web feature because you can do much more than just IM with it, plus the texting overages could add up very quickly. Just remember that Mobile Web uses airtime though. There are pros and cons either way. Go to the following URL for more info:
