Customers!!!!!

This is some of the customer we have, similar to other thread. Customer activated on Feb 04. he took a dive on a pool of water with the phone 😲 , no insurance 😳 and wanted a similar phone for free, nada, zero, freebie. Customer escalated no free phone, customer called back again and escalated, got a sup and they settle for a new phone @ 2 yr pricing. 😈

That pisses me off so much because it makes us look like jerk offs in the end and the customer ends up getting what they wanted probably getting his/her account credited for the inconvenience too. 👿

Guys it just fits with the rest of the popular culture in the country these days. People bear no personal responsibility for their actions. Business are to blame too because they foster this expectation thru just this sort of example or appeasement. Then add a few years and it esculates even more. The Customer become spring-loaded to be offended, and overly sensitive, their demands become even more unreasonable, butttttttttt heyyyyy remember the motto "Exceed Customer Expectations". Now we see the end result. It got so ridiculous in the airline industry, they strangled on their kiss ass policies and industry wide, pulled back the extra services.

Signed: Michael R. Starich Just another 4 year Verizon Customer treated very fairly. 😎

What really bothers me is how customers think that their phone isn't a highly sophisticated piece of electronic equipment. They feel they deserve a phone at a deeply discounted price when they throw theirs in a pool, merely because they got their phone for free the first time. They don't understand that the phones are actually worth up-wards of $200, and that's how they should treat them. My favorite is when a parent lets a toddler chew on the antenna until it falls off. It's not good for the child, nor the phone!

The funny part is when customer wants a phone like an LG 3200 for $40, and then asks, "well cant you give me any kind of discount on it?" ...yea ummm it's originally a $200 phone.. 🙄

I bet if we had our phones on display for $900 and then told customers, "you know what, we'll go ahead an knock off $800 just for you", they'd get excited and buy two. 🤣
It's all about marketing.

We have done it to ourselves with our marketing tactics. You can't walk through most malls without being accosted by someone from a cellular kiosk offering a free phone.

From a consumer's point of view why should they need to pay a bunch of money for something they got free? Free or next to nothing prices due to handset subsidies from carriers have dumbed people down to the value of their phone.

It is very tough for those who sell Verizon, AT&T wireless, U.S. Cellular or Cingular to actually convince a customer to pay for a phone with the features they want. It is very easy to convince a prospective Sprint customer to pay money for the phones. The difference is the expectation the customer comes in with.

It's a catch 22, without the...

So I could of whined enough to get a free phone? Big business can afford a hit and vzw should value my business for being w/ them for 6 months. Besides its VZW's fault for not making waterproof phones and not offering insurance for free

I just got a great idea, for those who insist on free phones every time their personal actions destroy the phone issued thru their plan, the following could occur.🤣 Contact the nearest Battered Women's Shelter, make a charitable donation, and take one of the hundreds of thousands of old phones these shelters must be swimming in.👿 Every imaginable carrier could be picked from. Then take your new found "treasure" back to Verizon or who ever and activate your latest piece of technology. Just think of the P.R. A person's act of stupidity, generates a charitable donation, and rescues a old phone from the endangered species list! 🤣 Do it for the children. 😎 😎

I was the one who started this thread. Bad reps do exist and are the ones that provide wrong info and don't do what are supposed to do. Every Company has policies, guidelines. And we get paid to follow them. Also our customers has to be conscious on what they are doing. A small part of them don't. VZW don't get the phones free from the manufactures. In this business and every other business there is 1 goal. That's to make money. What will destroy the company is bad rep giving wrong info who will eventually get fired and if the company higher ups starts doing things wrong. As long as our company keep adding towers, good plans and reliable service we are going to grow more. I See a good future for the next 2-5 years.

I agree with you about the representatives. However, I think Verizon Wireless may want to consider being a bit more competitive with their pricing. They remain one of the few companies that refuse to give free phones (at least in my market), unless the customer goes to Radio Shack, etc. Also, no unlimited text message packages.

Oh yes I would. If the customers bill has directory assistance on it, it is my fault for them dialing that, and it is my fault that it uses airtime as well as charges the account $1.25.
I get blamed as a salesman, for them going over their minutes, unrecognized dialed numbers, and all.
Here lately, people are coming in with their TM-510's complaining about the battery not staying charged, and wanting me to replace the phone for free or give them a free battery. I ask them if they are buying a car, and their battery quits working 2 years down the road...is the dealership going to replace it for free? The usually get my drift when I say that.

I know some of you guys are going to call me grouchy, or rude, that is not meant to soun...

honestly whos fault is it that the phone got wet? Who's fault is it that you did not take the insurance out on the phone. Hey Dodge I just wrecked my car cuz I was driving drunk on a moutain. I feel you owe me a new car. No I do not have insurance why would I do something resonsible like that. Oh and I think you should give it to be for free. I had the car for little over a day. I feel I have been a good and loay cusotmer. I have paid the down payment. I feel I should get a discount on my monthly payment. why you ask? Because i have paid you on time, that is why.
