We are Verizon Wireless... Our phones are not limited to our network.. You can use then on any network that will let you... And, you can use any carrier's phone on our network as long as the ESN is loaded in our system.. You can use any phone on our network that has been loaded in our system... We do not manufacture phones.. We are not a phone manufacturer.. We do not restrict the software... You can put any software you like, as long as you can find it and find a way to upload it..

Very cute.

I should try to the same tune.

We are Verizon Wireless, the Phones We don't Manufacture for our network you cannot use anywhere else. Since we request our phones to be jacked up with software that Qualcomm so happily helped us develop. I...

I think carriers should unlock the phones... All phone ESN's should be in all compatible networks... Offer a discount for a specific contract term, or pay full price and be able to port the phone.. Not hid behild smoke and mirrors..

As a note... The phones could be ported if the carriers would allow it... Or, the government would mandate it... I have recieved refurbished phones with data from various competitive carriers to Verizon that were flashed to Verizons software... A call to Verizon Management confirms that a 3rd party company takes Sprints, Verizons and other smaller carriers CDMA, EVDO, 1X phones.. Repairs them.. Flashes to whomever's software ...

It sounds like a good idea in theory. the problem is that Customers equate how good their phone is, to how good their service is. If you have a bad phone, people think the network is crap. So if someone gets a Sprint phone "unlocked" and use it on verizon's network, which it wasn't specifically meant to operate on, if they have poor reception or other problems, they will blame the service provider, not the phone manufacturer. And customers can't call into cust serv to troubleshoot because it isn't a verizon phone. Whether you believe it or not, Verizon DOES test their phones pretty hard for a usually long period of time. Harder than most other providers, long than most as well. And letting other providers phones on the network will compromis...

If I'm not mistaken, it was SBC that went to the politicians to force out the virtual phone companies from their lines. I live in an area that was part of the Ameritech network after the original AT&T breakup. Service went to hell once SBC took it over and I see SBC aka AT&T (the new AT&T) to be worse than the old one. I don't know about Verizon Communications for their landline phone service since I don't live in their area. as for Verizon Wireless, I have had no problems with customer service with the nearly 4 years I've had service with them. While I'd like phones with less restrictions as far as allowing OBEX & fully capable bluetooth, I'll take the service of Verizon Wireless over Cingular Wireless as Cingular Wireless has allowed ...
