speaking to a REALLY, REALLY, reliable person. TRUST ME RELIABLE. an account rep okay.

she stated VZW will be moving to wal-mart 😲 😳 YES WAL-MART 😲 😳 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FEBURARY 1, 2006 OR THE 18TH i'll ask again later. there will be a soft launch in 3 markets. one being PA, NY, and i can't remember but i think somewhere down south maybe georgia. BUT!!!!!! she did state for sure june 1, 2006 will be the national launch date of WAL-MART.

the launch phones in our area i think she said will be, LG 8100, MOTO V276, SAMSUNG 630, AND A FEW OTHER MID AND LOW ENDERS. when asked about the 9800 she laughed. so that means no. she said hold-out on that because the may get it a little later.

We do that already....you can't walk around a walmart without getting some kind of $hit on your shoes, so we have to clean it up before we step in it.

yeah they should just stick to prepaid. There used to be an agent that sold verizon in the walmart by me a few years back and i still get complaints from their customers. I was so glad when walmart kicked all of them out of their locations. I thought i heard walmart was going to start selling their own walmart branded cellphones at their stores. I assumed prepaid, and that is why all the carriers got kicked out. At leaste in my area their are no cellstores in walmart. God this sucks if it is true, i am anchored on a walmart! Can't waite, hopefully they run it like they did circuit city or this could get bad.

The local Wal-mart stores in the NW Indiana area already are an authorized agent of Sprint, Nextel, T-Mobile, & Cingular, besides selling pre-paid Tracfone. I do not find their prices low at all on most phones. In fact, they charge more on upgrades than they do for new signups for 1 or 2 year contracts. A Wal-mart store in Hammond Indiana had a Cingular authorized agent at the front of the store near mens dept., in a kiosk. As soon as Wal-mart offered wireless service contracts, that kiosk went out the door. I find that other authorized agents offer better deals on Sprint, Nextel, T-Mobile, & Cingular than Wal-mart does. I won't get wireless service from Wal-mart, or any authoriozed agent, sinply because I never had good service from a...

Well, it is easy to say you wont use a agent at wal-mart, but that is easier said then done. What would you do if the motorola razr just came out for verizon, was $200 at the verizon store, but, while you were at wal-mart, you seen they had it for $100, and since you want that phone, I do not think you can honestly say that you would walk out of wally world without the phone and goto verizon and spend $100 more.

I haven't decided what phone I want with my upgrade, but I can tell you I refuse to own another Motorola, simply because every model I've owned don't handle weak areas that well. The Razr is too thin for me, as I would end up breaking the phone. My current phone is a Samsung SCH-a650, which I've owned for more than a year and a half, and has done well for me. I didn't expect it to work inside my local Meijer stores, or Kmart in Merrillville Indiana, or at Southlake Mall in Hobart Indiana. My Motorola V60 & 120c wouldn't work in those places. My brother has the Motorola V265 and his phone has way too many places that his phone doesn't work reception wise, while my phone will work in those same spots, including inside his house in Knox In...

This ain't too suprisin'.. wit' Verizon walkin' away from Radio Shack, they were bound to go out an' get more distribution somewhere.

Its a decent match actually.. lotta Walmart stores in rural areas, an' Verizon has good rural coverage. So, 'yeeeha lil doggie' an' all dat. 🙂

I have to disagree with you on verizon has good rural coverage. They do have good rural coverage, but, most of it is thru roaming agreements. I live in the midwest, and I travel, and probably 80% of the time I am on extended network. Verizon has the major cities covered, but when it comes to rural coverage, alltel, uscc, midwest wireless, cellular one, ect. have that market. So, a lot of the wal-marts in rural areas will not be in verizon licenced areas anyway.

I am speaking on Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. Nebraska, Omaha, and now lincoln are the only areas that verizon owns, rest is Alltel, and Minnesota, Minneapolis, Now Rochester, Owatonna north to Minneapolis are the only areas owned by verizon, rest is...

I've heard that Walmart will have a kiosk in all their stores selling several different carriers. There wouldn't be a salesperson or anything, just a computer that asks the customer questions about their usage and basically picks the plan/carrier/whatever that would be "best" for that customer. and the phone would be shipped to the customer. 😳 I really hope that's not true for the customers' sake- can you IMAGINE dealing with that?
