Palm Treo questions

Easy-E

Jan 5, 2006, 12:56 PM
A few basic questions:
1. When will VZW ofer the Palm-based Treo 700?
2. When will it be avail using EV-DO network?
3. How easy is Palm-based Treo 650 to use with home Apple computer system?
4. I heard that Blackberry email is a 'push' type email system (i.e. instant send/retireve), but the Treo email system only sends/retrieves email every ~20 minutes, correct?
Thanks

treo 650 doesn't use uber-fast EV-DO network, and 700 has a few updated features vs treo 650 (i.e. better camera, keyboard, etc...).

any thoughts about ease of use with Apple?

A Palm Treo 700 using Palm software probably won't be launched for awhile, I'm guessing at least 6 months. Rumor circling from Palm is that there will be a Treo 700 with Palm Software, but I haven't heard anything about when. I'm sure when and if it launches it will be EVDO though.

I have no idea about the Palm and Apple question, but it seems to work just fine, I have numerous customers with Apple notebooks that have Treo's and they haven't said anything to me about having any trouble, may require software download from Palm though.

And yes, Blackberry is Push email where your Palm would work off what is known as Wireless Sync which syncs every 15 minutes currently. Wireless Sync is working to get that reduced, you can however still ...
