But you are right, though. Their phones are solid, and generally the most reliable handsets that Sprint has. When I worked for Radio Crack (and what a lousy job that was) I always recommended Sanyo phones. I had a 4700, then a 6400, then a 4900, and they were all excellent. Very few dropped calls, and they held up to all the abuse I could heap on them.

I understand they have an exclusivity deal with Sprint - you'll notice that they make phones for no one else.
