tomba

Jun 1, 2004, 10:15 AM
Does anyone know of any new future rates that will be coming ou anytime soon? The current rates are just not alluring enough to make the switch.

the reason why our plans arent as convincing as the typical '9000 minutes for $19.99' is because we are able to charge a little bit more based on the fact that we typically spend more money keeping our network reliable with the most reception... we aren't rated #1 because of how great our price plans are.. so the questions is, you may get more minutes with other carriers, but how often are you able to actually use those minutes? oh no, i just spit out a sales pitch and im not even at work.. 🤣

The phones of Verizon are virtually FREE from 21:00 thru 06:00 and on the entire weekends with the "mega-monster anytime minutes plans." Unless one lives on the phone during the week I find it hard to use all the day time premium minutes? One can always adapt their habit patterns to take advantage of unique plan characteristics.

If you want to know why I have Verizon, just lay down a VWZ customer agreement next to ANY other carrier's agreement. I haven't found one yet that is better than VZW. As for the cost:

National Plan w/ Free offpeak and innetwork(m2m)
400 min 39.99 10c/min
500 min 49.99 10c/min
800 min 59.99 7.5c/min
1200 min 79.99 6.6c/min
2000 min 99.99 5c/min
.69c roaming charge if you are in a remote area, canada, or mexico. More than %90 of U.S. will not experience roaming.

National Plan w/ free* offpeak, rollover, m2m

You could not have laid it out better. Verizon is a good deal especially when you also consider they use the CDMA technology. But as for "Get IT Now" ..... I have always felt alot of the stuff was down right childish, and the cost was steep for the value of what?, a goofy horoscope, or the weather. It should be a perk, not a tool to milk the crowd. All in all I am happy with Verizon as a customer, and I bring people to Verizon that are dissatisfied with the "others". Presently I am holding people back as we wait for the Audiovox CDM-9900. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!! 😁 😁 😁

As I have said before...they do stack up side by side well... and Verizon's AMPS coverage in remote areas does give a larger network area...

But you are comparing the wrong Nation product. To totally represent both networks, you would need to look at GAIT Nation, not GSM Nation. We give our customers the option to use AMPS, but do not make it an integral part of ALL plans because of the limitations of AMPS. AMPS is also in the process of being phased out across the US, I believe. Last I heard, by 2006. Even VZW is starting to limit its availability with their handsets. We are nearly two years into a GSM conversion from TDMA/AMPS, and are over 90% complete. Tower builds are ongoing as well, with the Boston market alone implenting over 450 ...

Ok, let look at GAIT nation,

45.00 for 400, 1000 n&w
55.00 for 500, 5000 n&w
75.00 for 800, 5000 n&w
100.00 for 1200, "
125.00 for 1500, "
150.00 for 2000, "
and there's only 2 phones, S/E T62u or Nokia 6340i either for 49.99, GREAT selection (not!)

Vs.
Americas Choice
39.99 for 400, unlimited n&w, and IN Network
49.99 for 500, " , "
59.99 for 800, " , "
79.99 for 1200, " , "
99.99 for 2000, " , "
149.99 for 3000, " , "
and you can choose any phone you want to and tri-mode Nokias 3589i can be had for free at dealers or 29.99 from VZW stores.

I think the choice is fairly clear, especially at the 800 min point and up.

There is unlimited night and weekend minutes on plans $34.99 and higher which includes 300 daytime minutes. That hardly calls for a "mega-monster plan" name. I believe that is what you meant here, but try to type threads that make more sense.
