one minor question.

how in the heck do you you activate the flash on the samsung a850. i'm toying with the damn thing and i get it. I EVEN READ THE MANUAL AND I DON'T RED THEM FOR PHONE THIS SIMPLE TO USE. and i stll can find anything about the damn activating of the flash! 😡

does anyone know the procedure of this?

Check the camera options. I had the Samsung a670 and now I have the a970 and it is always in the options on Samsung's in my experience. Even in my experience before I went to Verizon, Samsung flash activation was done through the camera options on Sprint's Samsungs too.

sorry, did what u suggested and the only options it gives are:

resolution
self timer
white balance
quality
shutter sound
color effects

and none of them have anything close to refering to a flash.

I was wonderin the same thing just the other this guy and danielson were on here talking about how Vzw sucks and now he's playing w an 850.....hmmmmm 😕

I did. I have been dealing with Customer Care over the phone. I have not made any purchases at a store in ages. Because of that, would I still be able to make an exchange at a store since you can't do it for me???

I don't understand how it would be a churn as I wouldn't actually be cancelling an account. I guess there are things I will never understand about this industry. 🤣

You can return the ph. to cs and activate your 8000 back onto the acct or I can do that for you and then we can proceed to get the ph best fitting you!
The churn thing is confusing and you would need explantions involving Vzw's policys.Basically I help you get what you need but surrender the commision to the orignal sales rep. Not that I care b/c one sale doesn't effect me either way and i would rather have a life long customer that loved my service than 1 sale neway! I used to work for T-Mobile almost 3yrs. and you have no idea how many customers follow me carrier to carrier.
Of course they are alot happier now 😁

I would check the corporate store in South Hills Village Actually I have a buddy there that is a tech and does get credit for sales Ill find out when hes working and email you. I just activated a wireless sync the otehr day it is a 1 time fee of $20 to dwnld the program and as long as you have Vcast pack it becomes a free service. I agree with you about doing it through corporate otherwise your acct could get all screwed up!!!
As far as celebrating you have my email if you ever want bs about ph's and have a beer let me know.

Just a "heads up" to you. I know what you said in your email, but my receipt that came with my 970 says that I will only be entitled to 1 exchange within the 15 day ...

NO NO NO NO NO... WRONG... Wireless Sync is not a one time $20 fee. It is a Get It Now subscription application on the LG 9800 (unlike other PDA devices) which is a monthly subscription rate of $19.99. The VCast Pack is $15 per month. The VCast pack give you unlimited usage of the Wireless Sync so that you don't use peak minutes during peak time, but the Sync is $19.99. That means if you want unlimited usage of the wireless sync on the LG 9800, it would be $15 VCast + $19.99 Wirelsss Sync = $34.99 monthly total cost for unlimited VCast, Mobile Web 2.0 and Wireless Sync. I really hope that you are not telling your customers that this is a one time fee because that is some SEVERELY incorrect information!!!

Just a side note. Nothing against you personally freedomrep because I know that you have helped quite a few people and have some very insightful comments. I just want to make sure that this is corrected because I would hate to have a mess of pople calling into Tech Support becuase they are being billed every month for Wireless Sync when they were under the impression that it was a free app after the download fee.

what's your deal lately? did i hurt your feelings when i said verizon sucks? Let me clarify. It took verizon two months to send me a replacement treo 650 because they couldn't admit after many many failed attempts with the text messaging not working with my phone that it was really the phone and not their service. Is that what you call customer service? not me that's for sure. So when i finally got my replacement i decided i didn't want to keep fighting with them if another problem were to ever arrise so i left for tmobile. Plus their coverage at my house was pretty bad, even tho they told me in the first place that it would be just fine and they were putting all these new towers in.

First daniel no you didn't hurt my feelings when you said Vzw Sucked. I don't allow posts on PS to effect my mental well being. I normally do not post that much on here but I am filling in at a different very slow location. I'm sorry that you had problems with Vzw. Obviously these problems are not occurring for the majority of our customers since we have the lowest churn rate in the industry.
Do I find it inappropriate to come to the Vzw forum looking for trouble. YES I do! I attempt to use these forums to help customers as well as learn more and more about the products and service that are available. When you take up space about how much you hate Vzw you take away from this! In regards to the problems you had with the treo, It sounds to me...

ok i wasn't looking for trouble? if i was i would have come up with something better to see than verizon sucks. it wasn't just one rep.. and i went into a store within my 14 days to have the phone exchanged and they said they couldn't do it there b/c it was a pda phone. So i proceeded to call CS and went back and forth with a diferent person everytime for 2 months before they finally sent me a replacement ( which was a used one might i add) Yes text is important to me, not important enough to have the 9800, plus that phone wasn't out when i purchased my treo. The phone wouldn't receive mms nor would it tell me when i had new voicemail! The thing that pissed me off the most is that there is a 30 day exchange period for devices.. so seeming as...

You are welcome to go to the company that made the phone and tell them their phone isn't working correctly. Verizon will always give used/refurbished phones for warranties becuase they're just helping you out. You could conversely send your phone to Palm, wait 3 weeks and get yours back the same way you sent it with no work being done because they couldn't replicate the problem.

oh i know what your talkin about. is that the thread where that guy had so many problems with his pda he just wanted to get the 815 and got screwed cuz he ended up having to keep the fifth line he activated?

if it is. you are sadly mistaken i told him the customer service he received in the store was bad but in no way should he be pissed because he couldn't get the rebate if he wanted to activate a new line and then switch it to another number. which it won't work. i have tried it and it bite me and a few customers on the @$$.

if the guy's story was true (which i know there was a bit of exaggeration) then infact his in-store customer service experience was bad.

i'm an employee at a dealer that sells vzw. i want an okay but not to hyper-techy phone for my employee plan and the A850 seems like that phone even though its in my opinion a downgrade from the a670. and this boring @$$ UI is killin me softly. but i don't want to have to wop out to much cash because i have to pay full out right for the phone since i am not locked in for 2 years. and the 950, 9800, and 8100 at full retail will have to wait till after the holidays check rolls in. 😁

ok, i'm not sure if you ever got this answered because i didn't want to read through all of these responses. but the 850 does not have a flash, that's why you can't find it in the options. if you haven't had it 15 days yet i'd suggest trading it for the lg 5200. same price and has a flash..hope that helps

you need to subscribe to the Hyperspace Fold Drive (300.00/month +70/use) to get the rocket booster to work.
